Features

  • Built-in 30 Amp outlet - the EU2200i companion offers one 30 Amp receptacle for RV applications (requires optional adapter) and one 20 Amp receptacle, the 30 Amp receptacle allows 2 EU2200i models to be run in parallel by way of a simple parallel cord (sold separately) and not an external parallel kit
  • Lightweight and compact - weighing less than 47 lbs. the EU2200i companion is incredibly lightweight and portable, thanks to Honda's inverter technology, it's easy to get it to where power is needed
  • A fuel shutoff valve ("Fuel Off" position) allows the engine to continue to run until the majority of the fuel in the carburetor is consumed and the engine shuts off, which helps prevent stale fuel issues and is useful for storing the generator
  • An increase in the ventilation area of 2.31 square inches compared with the outgoing model reduces cabinet air intake resistance, resulting in improved inverter cooling
  • A bigger oil filler opening, a longer spout, and larger oil drain gutter make for easier and cleaner oil changes

Description

The all-new Honda EU2200i Companion model can parallel to either another EU2200i or the existing Honda EU2000i K1/T1 models. • The gold standard
This is definitively the gold standard among so called suitcase inverter generators. These things are as quiet in person as the specs indicate, especially at partial loads (even 1,200 watt+) using Eco throttle. Beautifully clean and consistent power. Fuel efficient. To hell and back reliability, durability, and longevity. Small, lightweight, highly portable...probably any able bodied adult can put one wherever they want. If you are considering buying this model of generator you probably already know all of the awesome positives. It's still not completely perfect. There is no fuel gauge and it does not come with a precise hour meter (it does have a function, upon startup, where the green indicator light blinks 0-5 times indicating 0-100, over 100, over 200, over 300, over 400, or over 500 hours). Mine of course runs great and handled everything (within rating) I threw at it beautifully, including running my (natural gas) furnace and lighting and fridge circuits through my transfer switch (get an L5-30 to L14-30 or 5-15 to L14-30, hots bridged, adapter for your 2200i or 2200i companion and you can power 120v circuits on a transfer switch made for larger gens, just don't try to run too much at once of course) Recommended other items: -A screw in oil change tube. Yes the EU2200i has a larger oil fill and drain than the EU2000i, but it's still far from ideal. Easy fix. What’s to say ? Honda inverters are second to none . Added this to another one I had purchased for my rv travel trailer. Off grid camping. Linked together they preform outstanding and noise is minimal. Highly recommended

  • Still the best around.
If you have been doing any research on portable generators then you already know the reputation that these units have. They are certainly not cheap, but they can prove to be literal lifesavers in an emergency. This is my second Honda generator and the only brand I recommend. My first one (a larger unit unit with wheels) survived extended used during a hurricane recovery. This unit has been used for camping and lighter use but is still powerful enough to run a portable window AC and a small refrigerator if needed. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Runs great! Super quiet!
Gave it 4 stars because it doesn't run all night but otherwise is SUPER quiet and easy to start. Great generator.

  • They're the best, no question. Worth the price.
Everyone already knows the Honda inverter generators are superior quality but this redesign impresses. Only two fairly insignificant issues that would not keep me from buying it again. First, the "companion" plug for 30Amp service requires an adapter to use it with the standard RV shore line cable. Not a big deal. Just something I didn't know or read about and had to order when I first tried to fire up the rig. (note, I also have the EU2200i and I daisy chain these.) Second, it's kind of a pain to fill these even though they only hold a gallon. You have to pour very slowly or you get a lot of spillage. I bought an extender tank system and fill that instead. So far, I've run my 23' RV on these with the 15,000 btu a/c on constant run (100+ degrees outside), all lights on, the fridge running, and I tested the single-serve coffee pot, too. Didn't overload. I've run them for 4 1/2 hours so far and they're still more than half full. If anything comes up, I'll update, but I expect these to power my RV for many years. Oh, and I would love a remote start for these but they're so easy to pull start that it's really just laziness -- so I don't have to get out of bed in the morning to power them up. ... show more

  • Honda or nothing
You pay for it, but everyone agrees Honda makes the best generator. Arrived in perfect condition, just had to buy/add oil which is easy as always. You can’t beat this particular setup (single or two in companion setup) because they’re so light separately. 3000-4000w generators weight 130-150lbs (a pain to lift) while these are about 50lbs each. Then you also have the option to only use 1, if you only need ~15amps. Biggest negative with these (instead of 1 large unit) is fuel tank size and run time. When camping, I can turn both down to eco mode and they’ll keep my AC and fridge running all night for ~8 hours. But you’re kind of always babying the fuel, filling up before bed and then right when you wake up. I did buy a separate fuel tank siphon setup but didn’t try it yet Part of me wishes Honda would add a remote start/stop to these, but it’s not a big deal to walk 20’ outside especially when you’re nursing fuel etc anyway ... show more
