Nice paint set
Nice little paint set for painting models, we have a bunch of little models that my kids have from their grandparents and they needed a good touch up. So we decided to use these paints to repaint them in the image of what the kids want them to be like. This is a really nice little set I will say. The brushes work pretty well, we didn't need to get anything else so they did work for th size miniatures that we had. The amount of paint is fine for what we needed it for. The paint seems like quality and we did not need to think anything out. So it's nice though in case we have the paint for awhile and it thickens well we have it for the future. The paints are pretty thin as is. Plenty thin to just paint with. They are not the best blending, to be fair we did not really attempt to blend them but there's a few miniatures that the colors sorta leaked... But that's because the kids are using them and they are not like experts by any means. The paints have decent coverage, we did need to go over some spots but otherwise it was fine. I did paint them all white prior to coloring them so they had a blanket canvas to work with. The whole set is an extremely good value, I would definitely recommend to anyone who is probably a beginner and just wants something easy to use.

great for model kits of characters, can use without an airbrush and get good effect
GREAT set for accenting your pieces. These are a very liquidity type of paint because it is a varnish, so you will still need the underlying paints to do your model. But then you can use these to apply different types of effects and varnishes, like some of teh bright reflecting colors for the flash of a weapon blast or rocket launch or for a screen's glow, these are cool in that way. These also have nice brushes to help with that effect and they are all a little different, which i'll be honest i am trying to learn how to use all the brushes correctly because they handle a little differently but they are supposed to be used with varnishes. I haven't used these with an airbrush, so i can't speak to that, but i think these are thin and you can use some of the thinner to help dilute as you need for your brush's specs. You'll probably need more thinner than that though to ensure that it still works just fine afterwards with an adequate cleaning of it. Overall i like these and I am admittedly just learning how to varnish. I do mostly military models and specifically tanks and vehicles. These are great with that, but I think these are really perfect for models of fighters and characters with weapons over just tanks -- especially sci-fi characters. Overall these do help me make better models and I did use in a helicopter pilot's displays for a glow and they came out cool, probably better if I had an airbrush. But these are cool and I would recommend these for sure.

Everything I Needed to Start Painting Miniatures
I ordered this set to get started with miniature painting and the fact that it's a complete 24-color kit with thinner, matte varnish, and brushes included meant I didn't have to piece together separate purchases before I could start. Each of the 24 colors comes in a 2/3rd oz bottle, which turned out to be a generous amount for detail work where a little bit goes a long way, and the pigments are ground fine enough that most of my base coats only needed one or two passes to look solid without losing the sculpted detail on the model. The paint dries to a matte finish fairly quickly, so I could layer colors in the same sitting without much waiting around. It's formulated for plastic and resin, and it worked cleanly on both types of models I painted. Because the paint is pre-thinned, brush application straight from the bottle went smoothly, and when I wanted to try airbrushing a base coat, I used the included thinner to loosen it up for my low-power airbrush. The two matte varnish bottles were a nice touch for sealing finished pieces so they resist chipping and don't yellow with handling. The kit's six detail brushes plus two dry brushes covered everything from base coating to dry brushing highlights, and they held a good point through several sessions instead of splaying out. For anyone starting out in tabletop or wargaming minis, this set genuinely gets you from empty model to finished paint job.

Nice colors, good selection, great brushes
The paint is well pigmented. This is a great array of colors and they blend well together. I'm glad it comes with thinner because using it in my spray gun as is wouldn't work and even doing it by hand, some effects just work better when thinned a bit. But this is how this kit saved my sanity tonight. I had just finished assembling a custom order. The person had ordered a combination I would never have recommended, and it looked pretty awful. Still, it won't leave my workshop until it is perfect even if it is ugly. I had a little flip of glue (technical term) that I picked off a bit of the background part. Much to my horror, it took the paint with it. I've never had that issue before, but I'd also never used that color in this way before. (Did I mention it hideous?) No big deal, I thought, I'll just grab a brush...a brush...I have no idea where my small brushes have gone, but they did not leave a forwarding address. Then I remembered this kit came with brushes! Please - let there be a simple size 1 round or something similar...Huzzah! It worked beautifully. I was able to cover up the blemish. Huzzah! Thank you Homy Arty!

Comprehensive kit for beginner model or gaming miniature painting.
This model paint set comes with 24 acrylic paints, 6 detail brushes, two dry brushes, two thinners and two matte varnishes. The paints, varnish, and thinner all come in 20ml (0.67fl.oz.) clear plastic twist top drop applicator bottles. The various colors are geared towards role-playing miniatures or tabletop wargaming figures, so it is a good mix and variety of colors for that purpose. The paints are airbrush ready provided they are appropriately thinned using the thinner. You will probably need more thinner than the two included 20ml bottles, but if you already have an airbrush system then you probably already have some more thinner as well. The included brushes are a good size and selection as well for miniatures. The eight paint brushes consist of the sizes seem in the product paint brushes photo showing the angled shader, round brushes, and the larger dry brushes. The dry brushes do a good job for texturing as well doing highlights. The model paint set was priced at $39.99 at the time I ordered it. The cost is in line with similar sized model paint sets and seems to be a reasonable price. Overall this is a decent quality kit that is good for gaming miniatures as well as hobby model painting.

A great set for the beginner, or to add to you existing set up
I love these all in one kits, gives you the ability to test out multiple products with an affordable price tag. The brushes are all well made and the bristles come protected, I really like the ergonomic fit of the brush handles. The paints are a nice quality and the pigments are suspended with out needing excess shaking, they work well on plastics, woods, glass, and metals. You get a full saturation with one coat or you can water it down to get a nice wash. The paints are already thin enough to use directly in an airbrush. I like to use them in an acrylic ink bloom effect on water color paper. The thinner is water based, and easy to use. The varnish makes a final finish look professional quailty.

Good starters kit, decent over a kit
This is a decent over all starter it. It has most of the colors you would want. It is lacking flesh tones, which might be a deal breaker for someone in the mini space. The pair is water based acrylic so it cleans up well off brushes and out if an air brush. The colors have a good time one seem to hold the color well even when thinned, however some colors want to clump slightly when thinning, so mix very well. They dry decently fast and the cure seems to hold all. The varnish is standard, but they aren't stingy with it. The metallics are decent, but you would do best investing in a better metallic down the line. The brushes are not mind blowing. They are good feeling and decent working brushes for a beginner with a good selection of types that are well constructed for its price point. All in all, this is a generous kit at its price point, but if you need a good metalic, flesh tone, or specific flesh tone,you will want to order it separately.

A Lot Included for Miniature and Model Painting
This is a really nice starter set if you're getting into miniature painting, models, wargaming pieces, or small craft projects. With 24 colors, there's plenty of variety to work with without immediately needing to buy a bunch of individual paints. I especially like that the kit doesn't stop at the paint. You also get thinner, matte varnish, and eight miniature brushes, so it feels much more like a complete painting set rather than just a box of colors. The 0.67 oz bottles are also a generous size for miniature work, where you're typically using fairly small amounts of paint at a time. Overall, a well-rounded kit with a lot in the box. It's a convenient option for a beginner who wants everything together or for someone who already paints miniatures and wants to expand their color selection. It is also low-cost enough that mistakes or spills aren't a concern.
