    • Nice kit for charcoal grilling
I bought this kit to start grilling with charcoal (used with a Weber Kettle charcoal grill). The chimney itself works great. I don't think there's any use in buying an expensive charcoal chimney, it's just a metal bucket with a handle. But this one works great and has held up after many uses. I have no trouble getting charcoal started with it. The charcoal starters work very well, much better than newspaper or something like that. I usually use two of them to get the coals started. The blower tool also works decently. My one issue is that the red plastic cover is a very thin plastic that ended up melting and falling off. The tool still works, but the electronics are exposed now. The gloves and almost worthless. The offer almost no heat resistance. They are extremely thin for grilling gloves, almost like a cheap pair of mittens you'd buy at a dollar store. I ended up buying different gloves. Overall the kit is worth the money, just know that you'll need different gloves. ... show more

The blower fan feels fragile, but it gets the job done. The chimney holds up well to weather and heat. The gloves are just cotton gloves with grips, so not heat resistant at all. Other than the gloves, this is a great buy.

    • Set it on the ground
Don’t set the chimney on the grill’s charcoal rack as the air flow is adversely affected took two starters and about 20 minutes for all the charcoal to light. As soon as I set it on concrete (away from anything flammable) all the charcoal was lit it 4-5minites!

Everything was as expected with the exception of the gloves. They’re cotton knit with rubber spots, not exactly heat resistant. Everything else works as expected.
