This was one of the more expensive shelf I’ve ordered but it was definitely money well spent. I wanted to build a versatile cat tree for my cats with multiple places to sleep and install hammocks. I want to avoid any shelf that has holes for potential safety hazard but at the same time, have something that looks nice. I’m so glad I found this shelf and I will for sure to order the same one in the future if I moved to new places. Also, the J-hooks that comes with the package are great and the seller was really nice that they send a few more upon request for free. Very much appreciated! Highly recommend this shelf. Love that this shelf is adjustable and white. We searched high and low for shelves that would fit my daughters collection of woodzies. This one ticked all of the boxes without looking to industrial. It is made up of metal an pressed boards that sit on too of the bars. The only downside is the pressed boards are not heavy duty and could potentially sag if you want to store something really heavy on them. When I first opened the packages for the two shelving units I purchased, and emptied everything out, I was shocked that there weren't any instructions in either package. In frustration, I sent a 1-star seller feedback with my complaint. Shame on me; I eventually found the instructions in-between the shelves, so I'm happy to now write this 5 star review! There were a few issues, such as some of the pieces had bent parts that I had to fix with pliers, but once the unit was built I was very pleased. The seller includes a rubber mallet, and a clip to connect two units, which I was so happy to use. The instructions are very easy to understand, the metal material for the frame is very sturdy, however the actual board for the shelves are a little thin and I was worried that they wouldn't be strong, but they hold up very well. It took me about 30 minutes to build the first unit, as I made a few mistakes, but I built the second unit in about 15 minutes and didn't need to use the instructions. A tip; once you build the outer frame, connect the other pieces in opposites, ie: attach the right side, then the left side as you build the shelf pieces so that the unit does not bend and warp. I built my unit so that the shelves sit inside the supports rather than on top of them and I highly recommend this, as it's much sturdier this way. I was also happy to find that one side of the shelf was faux wood and the other side white, which I preferred. A tip; if you decide to use the white side, place all but the very top shelf with the white side up, and the very top shelf with the wood side up so that you see white as you walk by, ie: it's the only shelf you'll see the underside of. There is also an annoying non-removable Prop 65 sticker on the white side, but I used this shelf at the very bottom so I wouldn't see it. This shelving unit seemed daunting to assemble at first, but once I wrapped my brain around the clear instructions, it was actually quite easy. They’re sturdy and look great! But what I really want to comment on is the customer service from the seller. They went above and beyond in a way no Amazon seller ever has for me. I reached out asking to order additional shelves, and they replied that they don’t currently sell additional shelf parts. But they offered to send them to me for free if they had them in the warehouse. And they did! I don’t know if they always have that kind of ability, but they managed to do it for me this time. I was blown away by the generosity. Free shipping, too! I cannot recommend them enough, and I’m leaving seller feedback next. ... show more

This shelf is easy to assemble and it’s great that you can adjust the shelves to tilt or have rims if needed. The shelf insert with either white or wood has finished edges so that it looks nice on either side.
