The media could not be loaded. Hello! First, sorry for the Windex blocking the view of the tree stand, I'll add better photos and videos later if amazon lets me. So last year my mom bought a new tree, but we didn't put it up. Growing up we had a spinning/rotating tree. When mom had to get rid of the old tree she was having a hard time just finding a rotating tree with a stand that already rotated (this year we were able to find some but that's not the point). Mom bought a pretty stationary tree and my little sister bought my mom a rotating tree stand (not this one) and this year we started setting it up only to discover, the pole for the tree stand does not fit the 1.5 hole for the stand. I measured the diameter and found that the pole was 1.75. Then I started the hunt, and found this! We were very excited and are still excited about this stand. There was one issue, the 1.75 adaptor was big enough for the tree but the tree wobbled when we placed it in the stand. In the instructions, it basically says if that happens do not use the stand. I am my father's daughter and I just decided to fix it myself because I like the stand, it's pretty, it works, and I'm very confident that I can fix it by filling the extra space. I used a strip of foam. NOT FOAM SPRAY. For some reason that is what my mother thought I was doing. If you use foam spray, you will ruin the stand. First I check to make sure the strip of foam will not get caught in anything when the tree stand is turned on. Look into the hole of the stand and when it's turned on everything inside should all be in one piece and all moving together. Once you confirm that the foam isn't going to get caught somewhere, place the tree in the stand. Then start shoving the foam in the gap of the stand between the walls of the hole and the pole. You only need to wrap around once, you're not going to need that much foam. Also, this will need to be repeated every year, so every year you will need to either put the same foam back in or get new foam. DO NOT GET STICKY BACK FOAM. I mean you can if you really want to, I'm not your mom, and my mom told me not to do what I did but I did it anyways so even if I was your mom you can still do what you want, but you know you should really give your father and me a call sometime, we worry about you. I realize that photos will probably help and I didn't take photos of my process, but I'll add a photo of what it looks like with the foam in the stand. I also understand that the company has instructions that say what they say for a reason, SO if anything happens with my tree, the company isn't liable. Still, I'm very happy with the stand and very happy I was able to fix it, and hope that this may help others who find the 1.75 adaptor piece to be too big for their tree. ... show more

    • Not sure about long term quality of this stand.

My granddaughter put this together for me, and it seemed to work pretty well. I do not like a tree that sits still, since there’s a back and you need to see it all! This was my third purchase of a rotating stand and I was fairly satisfied, until we took it down and one of the feet on the stand was broken. The tree was also a bit crooked in the stand, which I had noticed, but it wasn’t too bad, so I didn’t pay much attention until disassembly, when it seemed a bit wobbly. It may not have been correctly assembled, so we will see next year. I cannot find any info on Amazon, or the paper that came with the stand, to find out how to get a new foot for the tree stand, and I am not happy about that! It says to contact them for parts, but gives no contact information! Under the circumstances, I would have chosen a different stand, if I had realized this. ... show more

    • Check the size of your tree!

This is a very sturdy stand, but read the description! It says it works on a tree of 1, 1.25 or 1.5 inch diameter, which is true, but there is not way to adjust it for any other size tree. They do this with collars that go around the tree. If your tree is just a little to large it won't fit and you have to go to the next size up. If your tree is too small, then it wobbles. We found a way to make it work for our tree. If your tree is the right size, it is a sturdy stand. It rotates slowly. Our other stand rotates more quickly so it was different, but not bad. There is a switch that allows you to turn off the rotation, but still allows the tree to be lighted. ... show more

    • GREAT addtion to the holiday tree arsenal!

The media could not be loaded. Used this to take a 7.5 pre-lit Costco tree to full 360-degree use, once I had accumulated too many Disney-themed ornaments to display on just the part of the tree that faced into the room. It took me only a cople of minutes to assemble the rotating base and put the tree into it. I needed to use one of the included fittings, as my tree's shaft was the medium-size amongst the sizes that this base can accomodate. I really appreciate that the base is designed with an electrical outlet that spins with the tree. This means it was super easy for me to plug the tree in once and never have to worry about it again! Plugging in the tree stand to the wall makes the tree light up and the tree begin to spin. I've got the whole thing on a switch that lets me turn the outlet on/off at a distance, to rotation and lighting up the tree work as a single function. (There *IS* a built-in switch on the base, but I never checked to see whether it controls rotation AND the lights/outlet, or just rotation.) One of my cats REALLY likes to get up into the tree, he's a Burmese and climbing trees is his nature. This rotation is pretty slow (takes I think about 90 seconds for the tree to rotate once?) - not enough to deter him - and the motor is gentle enough that if he gets up on his hind paws under the tree and puts his front paws on a lower branch, it'll stall the tree's rotation until he stops pressing on it. The motor is silent, it doesn't make for a distraction in the room. I really like this base and how it lets me use the entire tree for my ornaments.     • Great replacement for a broken rotating stand
