First of all, I'll admit that I am highly critical and will find a flaw in just about everything. I came very close to pulling the trigger on a Marcy machine but the reviews weren't the best and many people had certain things that the were not happy with. After debating for a week I finally decided on one of the Sincmill machines and almost bought one with 150 lbs of weights. After reading the reviews for those models and also from similiar machines of different brands, I decided to go with this particular model as it only comes with 80 lbs of weights but allows you to add something like 160 more on the side bars. By having the weights sitting much lower you can get a full extension with every exercise whereas the other machines with more weights will hit the top not allowing a full extension. Secondly, the instructions say to put a lubricant on the pulleys and other moving parts. The rubber bumpers on top of the weights were so tight on the rods that they would barely move, so I tried 3 in 1 oil and it was a great improvement. After doing some research I decided to purchase some "Aim Extreme Duty Lubricant" and this made a HUGE difference. $10 for one ounce and it will probably last several years or more. This stuff is so slick that you get a workout letting the weights down as well as they will come crashing down as it's so slick. The machine arrived in 5 boxes, packaged very well and not one scratch. I did not watch the assembly video until after I was finished and it was a big mistake as it would have saved a lot of time. This machine is a high quality product, not flimsy and cheap like other reviews on certain machines. The little plastic guards that go on the pulleys, don't use them unless you are worried about small children getting their hands in them. They even reccommend not using them as sometimes they will cause wear on the cables. Everything on this machine appears to be heavy duty and I absolutely love it. I lost two screws putting it together and also the seat bracket was welded together slightly crooked, but customer service was great and I received the new pieces on one week. I came so close to buying a Marcy machine at Sam's one afternoon and I'm really glad that I did a little research and decided on this one. For the average person the 80 lbs of weights that it comes with will be sufficient, but with this machine you aren't limited to a maximum weight of 140-150 as with most other machines. I love this machine and I think it's a great value for $500 and I absolutely cannot find one flaw with this!

This review is for the weight expandable model. The good - *Unit feels like it's good enough quality *Good amount of starting weight (80lbs) and the ability to expand weight puts this as a useful additional to even fitness enthusiasts. * Price and value is fantastic. I have a home gym from a large well known brand that was about 1.5x more than this unit and capped out at 50lbs. This product is an excellent deal for what it offers. The bad - * One of the packages was delayed for several days, So logistically it was a major hassle. * Building this thing was one of the most time consuming and difficult processes i've done in a very long time. The instructions aren't great and don't follow a ton of logic. It took me well over 7 hours to assemble. * QA issues, I was missing a few washers and bolt covers. Thankfully, everything used is fairly common sizes so I had things that would work. * It's a bit wobbly. Nothing concerning, but you'll definably notice it * Front curl bar is fairly limiting due to angle. *Unit is fairly loud and creaky and it's brand new

Picked this machine, as others reviewed said, better range of motion due to less weight plates. Option to add free weights also sold me. Took my time assembling, and used 3in1 oil on cables and poles for weight plates. Very sturdy on 1/2 mat on top of tile floor. Would recommend.

For the money, this is a very nice home gym and capable of all of the exercises you would expect to be able to do on a much more expensive product (and even more with a little ingenuity). While the frame is definitely built of a lighter gauge tubing than some expensive equipment that I have owned in the past, this gym still feels solid. When I placed my order I didn't see any reviews for this particular machine (SCM-180) but the fact that you can add individual plates gives you the ability for smaller increases in the weight that is being used as well as the maximum that can be used. Another important thing to point out is the fact that since the included weight stack is smaller (lower), it does allow for a longer pull with all of the cables. As mentioned by another reviewer, I ended up putting a small amount of lithium grease on the chromed rods that the weight stack travels on. There are two rubber bumpers at the top of the stack (at least on the 180 model) that occasionally tilt sideways and can cause drag/chatter. The grease completely eliminated the issue. While I wasn’t timing myself, I would say that it didn’t take me more than a few hours to put the machine together. The instructions are just fine as long as you take a moment to review the steps before starting them. I would also like to point out that the seller was fantastic and the gym arrived much earlier than expected! Overall, I am very happy with my purchase

The media could not be loaded. This gym is amazing. Assembly was intermediate level , pulley system was the biggest pain but still not terrible. Probably took 2 hours total with a one man crew. Shipping time was accurate was delivered via fed-ex.
