I will order another one of these. Plenty of room for 24 pair of size 7 med women's shoes. It was relatively easy to assemble using a rubber mallet. It took about an hour from opening the well packed box to placing my shoes on it. Give yourself plenty of space to assemble and do count the peices before you start. To avoid losing any parts, leave them in the bags until you need that piece. Since I don't have 24 pairs of shoes I have plenty of room for storage boxes. I have a 5in h x 13in w box with 2 pair of flat shoes on the top of the box. This fits nicely between the shelves. I turned the unit upside down to leave space on the floor for sandals if needed. You can cover the shelves with cardboard or something sturdier to store your high heels. Sturdy but it is not a bench to sit on. We are a 2 adult household one male and one female and share this rack in the closet. Now if it came with an arm to pick up the shoes from in front of the recliner it would be more than perfect. I recommend this shoe storage unit. I am a 72 yr old woman and moderately handy and did not need help with assembling, lifting or opening the box. ... show more

I wish I would have purchased this shoe rack first. I bought another popular product because of the black sides (made of rubber) to match the bedroom. I was happy til it broke during the night. Didn't last more than 2 hours. I have 3 racks stacks on top of one another against a wall with NO straps securing it to the wall in a 2 cat household. It hasn't fell and does not appear to be unstable. It absolutely full of size 13 shoes and sneakers of different wieght placed wherever. I probably should strap it to the wall (I'll put it on the to-do list). Pros: -The widest shoe rack for the price. It is truly stackable. Istacked mine and it is holding strong. I'm a boundary pusher (with a lot of shoes) and it is triple stacked against the wall At size 13, this rack fits 4.5 pairs of shoes per row. 5, if every other pair is heel first, toe first, etc. Definitely can handle heavy shoes. Easy to assemble; used a mallet to ensure to rods were secure. Cons: The grey/cream combo makes for a closet rack vs. a rack to display footwear. Stacking the racks is awkward due to the very top height being half of the between the racks. So after your first rack you essentially lose a useable row for regular shoes. If you where flip-flops, shower shoes or slides, that would be the place to put them on the shoe rack. If they charged $5 more for black/black combo, I'd paid it happily. All in all, great product! If you are undecided or was like me, apprehensive because of getting burned by a crappie although nice looking product this is what u need to buy. ++**This is not a discount for a review**++ I do this review in thanks for all those who have saved me money steering me clear from bad products and those who have allowed me to make purchases of quality products based on their reviews. ... show more

I purchased this shoe rack to replace a another 4 tier shoe rack I had. My hopes with this shoe rack was that it would be able to accommodate my taller shoes and hold more pairs of shoes per rack. My previous shoe rack did not have a lot of space between each rack and could only hold 4 pairs of shoes on each rack. The Verdict This shoe rack can most definitely hold taller shoes between each rack. All of my high top basketball sneakers and low cut Timberland boots fit between each rack with ample room to spare. There is no rubbing against the upper level and I can easily place my shoes on the rack and take them off of the rack when needed. This shoe rack can hold 4 and a half pairs of mens shoes per rack. I can see it holding 6 pairs of women's shoes but if you wear men's shoes count on being able to place 4 and a half pairs of shoes on each rack. That extra space for half a pair of shoes may not be useful in most real world situations but I was able to put my wealth of incredible ingenuity to use :-) and come up with a simple solution. I stack a pair of sandals (one sandal on top of another) and place them where the one shoe would fit. I think it was a good use of the space and it works quite well for my situation. Another great thing about the design of this shoe rack that I hadn't even considered when I purchased it is that you can place shoes of any size on the top rack. Just be aware that if you place the shoe rack under your clothes the length of those clothes will determine the height of the shoes that you can lace on the top rack. Build Quality The shoe rack was super simple to put together. It took me about 10 minutes. The aluminum bars are sturdy and the rack feels strong and stable once it is completely assembled. Recommendation If you want a strong stable shoe rack that holds a lot of shoes I'd say this is the shoe rack for you. If you are depending on it holding exactly 6 pairs of shoes per rack and you're a man I'd say hold off or buy additional shoe racks to accommodate all of your shoes. ... show more

I read the reviews - both good and bad and here's my take. It's good. The longer poles are a little awkward to put together, sure, and the holes vary in size a tiny bit, making some harder to push the pieces together, okay. But guess what? It wasn't that hard. Just use your muscles - if you don't got em, find someone who does or use a mallet. The people who had the thing collapse probably didn't make sure the poles were in the holes all the way. I twisted them as I pushed them in, it seemed to help. I saw another person in these reviews flip the "handles" to the bottom to make an extra space for short shoes - loved the idea and mimicked it. I didn't need the 4 shelf rack, but it was cheaper than the 2 and 3 shelf ones, lol. My video is just me shaking the damn thing and putting pressure on it to prove it doesn't "just collapse". The color combo is ugly but for something that's in my closet and less than $20, could care less. :) ... show more

I liked this shoe rack so much I ordered a second one the following week! It's quick and easy to put together (as long as you use a rubber mallet to seat the cross pieces that make up the shelves into their end brackets) and it holds 5-6 pairs of shoes per shelf just as the ad copy states.The description that it's made of "durable and high-quality polymer plastic" is an error. I almost didn't buy the item because I knew that PVC-like shelf rods 40" in length would bend like crazy with 6 pairs of shoes on them. The gray shelf rods and all of the upright rods are rigid METAL and support the weight of the shoes perfectly. I didn't need more than 3 shelves high in each of my two closets, so I was able to make a third 2-shelf unit for another closet, making the cost a real bargain. After years of crappy, poorly designed and built shoe racks, I've finally found one that's reasonably priced and should last forever. GREAT PRODUCT!!! (I paid full price for my shoe racks, so this really is my honest opinion, unlike a lot of reviews of Amazon products.) ... show more

These shoe racks worked well for me. I actually split the set of four up so that I had the 2-tiers next to each other on my closet floor. I took the top two racks and turned it upside down so, like I read in one of the reviews, I could put sandals underneath. I saw no problem with the sturdiness. I also found that I barely could fit 6 pair on each rack. Got a little more room by putting each pair of shoes toe facing out and the other with the heel facing out. I wasn't too smart at first putting it together. Had trouble getting the rods in tight enough by hand so they wouldn't come apart. Finally I had one of those ahh-has moments and got a hammer and stood the pieces on end and tapped the rods in so they were completely secure in the holes. Now it is very very sturdy. Happy I purchased it. My suggestion to the manufacturer that in their instructions they mention using a hammer or rubber mallet to secure the attachment. Not everyone would think of it immediately - I am a perfect example!!!!!!!!! ... show more

Perfect size for my closet and fits all of my shoes including sandals, workout shoes, and booties. The brushed nickle looks great with the silver hardware in my closet. Super easy to assemble, took less than 5 minutes and very light weight so anyone can do it. I highly recommend! Initially I gave it 5 stars but I have been using it for a couple months and the top shelf doesn't stay put. The poles fall out all the time and I stopped using the top row. I now wish I would have invested in a more expensive organizer that could hold up. ... show more

We really like this shoe rack. We wanted a shoe rack that makes the shoes sit flat and not slanting because some of the kids shoes keep slipping and falling down. This is flat with four four tubes running across on each row. We have used it for more than a month now and its sturdy enough. Pros- - Very easy to assemble - Hold up to 6 pairs of adult shoes and around 9 pairs of kids shoes on each row. - All the rows sit flat with four tubes running across. There is no fear that a kids show might fall through the gap. - The top row comes with ears to lift it which is a neat feature - Light and sturdy Cons- None so far Please let me know if you have any questions.
