I was able to get this portable a/c unit by Homecom on Prime Day, so not only did I get a killer deal, considering it was one of the lowest price units, it’s hands down better than the last two units I’ve had, and they were even brand name expensive ones too! I love the fact that it’s compatible with my Amazon Alexa as well! Whenever I’m gone, I can still operate the unit via my iPhone, although it has an app for it, I operate it via my Alexa account, and that’s perfect because I have a service dog that means the world to me and now I never have to worry about the heat with her even if I’m gone because of the ability to operate it via the app or through alexa! Although as you can see, after having a couple of these before, I’ve learned a few hacks that help the Unit last longer and work better! First, after I set up the exhaust pipe in my window, I go to the store and buy multi-purpose styrofoam insulation panels, cover both sides of the window, and even cover where the exhaust pipe is at, once I’m done and have every crack sealed with aluminum duct tape, I’ll then cut a hole in the panel that has the exhaust fan behind it! Then i go inside and actually wrap a couple towels around the exhaust hose and then completely cover it with aluminum duct tape! Once done, those hacks help keep the unit from getting too hot!!! The last thing I did some research on and found out first hand just how much it helps improve any a/c system, is the use of a fan! If you buy a fan and place it right in-front of where your unit blow out cold air, you can then basically turbo charge any ac/unit by helping pump the cold air throughout the entirety of your room! Which is why In my pictures, you see I have a personal size Vornado fan right infront of my HOMECOM portable AC Unit! I can’t tell anyone enough how lucky and glad I am, that I purchased this portable ac when I did and got my window and exhaust pipe Insulated and bought a fan to help circulate the cold air because it’s been Almost two months straight now in AZ where the temperature has been 110+…. Even though our Governor just declared a State of Emergancy because of the heat, my room stays and is easily kept at a cool 70-72 degrees, thanks to my HOMECOM Portable A/C unit!!!!! ... show more

I have had this unit for a few weeks now and it does a pretty good job with keeping things alittle cooler during the summer times. However you may want to find a place where it can be elivated from the ground sence this thing can pull water out of the air faster then you can drink it, the drain part is very close to the ground and if your goung to be out for most of the day i recommend a large bowl of some sort to contain the water But over all its a very good ac for a small apartment ... show more

Applying a coupon, and with Prime free delivery, I only paid $232 for the unit. For the money, it cools the space just fine. BUT, there are issues: first, the condensate drain point is maybe 1/2" from the floor. One would literally have to drain the condensate into a cookie sheet to get enough drop to evacuate the condensate compartment. Can you imaging having to move and drain a cookie sheet? To combat this, I had to build a support getting the unit 18" off the floor. Doing that, I can drain the condensate into a simple utility pail. Secondly, the hot air discharge line gets very hot. I ordered some high-temperature duct tape that will perhaps allow the hose to stay on the unit longer. Finally, the unit is more noisy than expected. In conclusion, for the money, it is cooling the space, but it is required some modifications before operation. Not sure how long it will last. Started unit on 6/16/23. ... show more
