We have a fireplace that we don't use, but like to keep it covered. We had a fence-like grate in front of it before, but my kids were always pushing it around and knocking it over. This takes up less space than the old grate and blends in nicely. It gives my kids more space to stand on the brick in front of the fireplace, which they use as their "stage". I don't think this would work well to keep a baby out of the space, because it can easily be pushed in. So while it was perfect for my needs, it might not be perfect for the listed purpose of baby-proofing.

This fit my fireplace very well and the magnets are strong. I just unfolded the item after taking it out of the shipping box, and held it up to my fireplace. The magnets all clicked into place with little assistance from me. I did have to adjust them but it was easy to do. The fit is good though I think a couple inches on each side would have been better for the fireplace I have, but this one covers what needs to be covered. The mesh is sturdy and well made.

We have a wonderful fireplace, but wanted to have protection in case we had guests with little children, or even ur dogs and cat. So we really like this item! It fits well and gives us relief from worrying.

I’ve been wanting one of these magnetic fireplace covers for a long time and I finally was able to get one. Before this, I had a tacky baby gate over the fireplace so my cat wouldn’t get in there. I was sick of looking at that and needed something different. I also have a problem with bees coming in through my fireplace and since this magnetizes over the whole fireplace, it doesn’t allow any bees to come into my house anymore. The magnets are very strong and I haven’t had any issues with it coming off at all. It was a little long at the bottom, but I easily fixed that with rolling it up a bit and using some strong 3M tape and now it looks perfect. It’s such a relief to have something that actually matches my living room and doesn’t make it stick out like a sore thumb!

I got this for my balcony door to prevent foster cat from going outside. I didn't realize door frame was not all metallic so unable to use for that purpose. The screen material is thicker than expected and of good quality. For my purpose, the thick screen may not work as well because it can get pretty windy (I live on a high floor), and I don't think the magnets would be strong enough for anything more than a breeze. Good quality so will keep to find use for it.
