The media could not be loaded. The Holy Stone HS175G: My Favorite Beginner Drone! Wow, I am absolutely blown away by the Holy Stone HS175G! As someone relatively new to drones, I was looking for a balance of easy flying and good camera quality without having to register with the FAA. This drone ticks every single box and then some. Right out of the box, the design is impressive. It's incredibly lightweight (under 250g) and folds up neatly, making it super portable – perfect for tossing in a backpack with its included carrying case. Setup was a breeze; I was up and flying in minutes. The 4K camera with EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) delivers surprisingly good results for this price point. My photos are crisp, and the videos are smooth enough for sharing with friends and family. The 90° adjustable lens is a fantastic feature, letting me capture different perspectives without having to constantly re-position the drone. Plus, the 5GHz FPV transmission gives a clear, stable live feed to my phone, which really helps with framing shots. Flying this drone is a joy. The GPS Auto Return is a lifesaver, bringing it back home if the battery gets low or I lose signal – huge peace of mind for a beginner. The Optical Flow Positioning keeps it incredibly stable indoors and when GPS isn't available.     • Fast and fun. Great entry level drone.
I’ve been flying drones for over 5 years, and different brands as well. I absolutely love Holy Stone Drones, I own 5, now 6 with this one. I can say, the HS175G model, is a great entry level model and a great price as well. Took on several test flights to gauge the overall handling and also the pictures and videos quality. The drone itself handles exceptionally well. Fast too, and lots of fun. It is light weight, but handles well in moderate wind. All controls and features worked great as should. Very stable hover and position hold. Only downside, the camera gimbal is a bit shaky when panning, otherwise you have a great 4K transmission and very clear, but doesn’t pan smoothly as it does on higher end HS models like the HS600D and HS900 which have 3 axis gimbals. So I wouldn’t be buying this camera drone and think you’re going to be catching high quality videos and making side money, but absolutely great to learn, and get proficient without breaking the bank. ... show more

    • Love it. Fun for everyone to watch
I've had and used this drone for awhile so I thought I'd leave a review. Unboxing is super easy. The instructions were clear. When you open the app and get ready to fly, it has you do the calibration every time. This is nice so you don't forget. I've had no issues flying this drone. The drone has 2 speeds and you can definitely tell the difference. It is super easy to fly. The hover mode had me impressed. It compensated for the wind and maintained relatively in the same spot. I use this drone for fun and to map out areas of interest. It is functional for both. The video quality is absolutely amazing. One of the features not listed is you can save the recordings to your SD card and <i>and</i> your phone. I use a 128g SD card to record my flights. Make sure with the larger capacity SD cards you format them to FAT style as this is what the drone uses. This was super fun for the kiddos to watch and do tricks The only downside I can think of is when I had a medium gust of wind one of the arms folded over and it made the drone flip upside down and crashed into the ground. The second one is the range. While the lack of range is to be expected, I feel it is greatly exaggerated in the advertisement. ... show more

Pairing is easy, drone flies well, controls understandable. But I bought this to take downward-looking photos, and the results are absolutely dreadful. It produces the specified 8 MP images, but they are super-blurry when viewed at 100% resolution, and the JPEG compression is set way too high. Huge disappointment. ... show more
