    • Frankenfoam made me physically ill
I love the way this topper feels, but I can't sleep on it anymore. Every time I spend a night on it, I wake up with a sinus head ache, a runny nose, and nausea. I used it for a few days, suspected my symptoms were from the foam, left it on my deck for a couple days to air out, put it aside for another week, and tried it again, last night. Woke up this morning with the same head ache and nausea I had last time I slept on it. I hate to think what nastiness is in this thing that it would have that much of an effect on me. It's headed for the landfill :( UPDATE 5/7/18 The seller e-mailed and offered me a full refund or a mattress cover if I would take down my review. I don't feel great about that arrangement, so I'm not removing my review. In fairness, my husband slept next to me when I was using the topper and he never had a problem. ... show more

Based on reviews and information that the Hofish 3-inch gel foam memory topper had minimal smell from offgassing, I bought this to top a newly purchased mattress that is too firm for me. The topper arrived on time, well-packed, and as described. I was able to put the mattress on my bed the same day it arrived, even though I had expected it to take several days for the smell to go away. What a boon!     • Don't Buy If You Have An Old Matress

If you're like me and are thinking of buying this to help an old sagging mattress, don't bother, it only makes it worse. The foam on this mattress pad is very soft and squishes down to nothing, giving little to no support what so ever. You'll wind up laying in a gel foam hammock and it's almost impossible to even roll over. This mattress pad must be used on top of a firm, new mattress, or in for some serious sagging. This will not help out an old mattress. It's too soft, you sink into it, and it worse than what you were laying on before. So I am pregnant and when you’re pregnant everything hurts. My hips were so sore at night despite sleeping with a pregnancy pillow I kept waking up sore. One night at 5am I had enough of the restless nights and sore hips. I searched amazon and bought this based on the positive reviews. I 100% hands down recommend this topper! I don’t wake up with sore hips anymore.. it’s sooo comfortable. My husband enjoys it too. He said “It’s so comfortable that I overslept and didn’t have time to work out before work!” I read a review from another reviewer that said the topper has a strong odor. That was NOT the case for mine. Pregnancy heightens my sense of smell and immediately after I cut open the package I inspected it and kind of expected a strong odor.. there was none! I think either the other review has a super human sense of smell or some how got unlucky. Don’t let their review put you off from buying this heavenly cloud of a mattress topper. Price was competitive. This is super comfortable and was just what I needed for my hard Ikea mattress. There's a slight smell initially, but that went away after a few days. They have version of this topper than includes a mattress pad that I recommend you order as it's only about $4 to $5 more expensive. Worked great the first week but I have noticed it does loose elasticity real quick I weigh 150lbs and a 40lb dog sleeps beside me. This is a good one for a guest room but not daily use.
