Honestly, when I bought this I was scared because a lot of the recent reviews were not the best. However, I took the chance and I’m just glad I did! This is an amazing size, the drawers are longer rather than deeper but all my clothes still fit the same. I love the 2 smaller drawers with the keys. One thing I will say though is that you for sure need 2 people to assemble it. Nothing came together so you literally have to build it from scratch. The instructions were clear but we didn’t really follow the order cause it would’ve made it harder but I received all tools and pieces needed in the package and just made sure things went together and aligned. It took us about an hour and a half to do it but the outcome is worth it! ... show more

    • This is shoddy chest of drawers. Save your money.

We had multiple problems with the chest of drawers. My husband and I have put together many, many partial board furniture pieces over many years. This one was the worst. Recently we put together a computer desk and 2 bookshelves from Furinno. Easy, cheap and pristine. Furinno did not have the additional size that I wanted so I ordered this Hodeida chest. Big mistake. When I unpacked it, per their instructions, I found several corners dinged. Not the outside box…their inside packing. It went down hill from there. The dowels are hard plastic and too long for the drawers. Eventually we figured out that nothing would fit unless we cut all the dowels down to size. A step we were not anticipating. Predrilled holes are missing on some pieces even though they are shown in the instructions. The laminate was scuffed in a few places, but especially on the top which was discouraging. The instructions looked complete, but they were difficult to follow. We finally had to figure it out on our own which we were able to do. I really don’t mind the instructions bc we have experience. I am though, very disappointed in the shoddy workmanship or packaging on the large pieces…all the dings on the corners. I have never experienced that before. Also, because we had to adjust so many pieces because of the dowels, the finished piece is not as nice as it could be. Fortunately we wanted this chest for an outdoor she-shed and I can cover up any of the scratches with decorative touches. I would never consider putting this chest in my house. It was really hard to put together and took some improvising. The outcome isn’t bad but you get what you pay for. It is cheap and seems like it will break easily. The drawers are also smaller than expected but I’m making them work. Update: While putting it together I messed up two of the drawers due to lack of clarity in the instructions. After realizing that I contacted them. I also asked a question here about replacing them and a customer said no. That’s not the case. They sent me all the pieces for the two drawers and now it’s fine for me. Still not the best quality but with the customer service I would say it’s worth the price. The bottom handle is missing because I didn’t order another handle and the old one wouldn’t stay on. Not a big deal to me though. ... show more

Given the 3.5 stars, I was not expecting a lot out of this multidrawer. I bought two matching to help organize my craft room and plan to install a desktop between the two cabinets. I am very handy, and have put my fair share of precut furniture together. I was genuinely pleasantly surprised. These were no more difficult than any ikea or target furniture to assemble. Similarly, if you have assembled similar furniture, the instructions will absolutely be sufficient. Each unit took me 2.5 hours to assemble on my own. With two people this would have gone faster. Based on prior reviews, I carefully opened and unpacked each box to prevent crumbling styrofoam. I checked each piece for scratches and chips. Only one piece showed damage, a small chip that I was able to repair with painters tape and wood glue. The piece is on the bottom of a drawer and would not have caused structural or aesthetic issues. Two screws were poorly machined out of the two units. They were easily replaced with some from my home tool box. Outside of that, the units assembled easily. Each piece is individually labeled. In contrast to previous reviews, each hardware type was individually packaged and labeled, which aided in the ease of assembly. Additionally, magic sliders were included to allow for easy scratch-free movement across our tile floor. The quality and price is similar to ikea or target precut furniture. Similarly it is of comparable sturdiness - I wouldn’t trust it to hold up to a classroom of kindergartners, but for general adult use, this fits the bill. I appreciated the careful packaging and delivery straight to my door. ... show more
