I have a Dewalt drill and was reading that they were discontinuing the 18v brand name Dewalt batteries, so I was looking for a good alternative option. This was priced about 1/5 the price of the brand name one and it’s been working great. It took a few hours to fully charge, and has been working well. It doesn’t seem to last as long as the brand name, but it still does a fine job and I’m happy with it. I liked it so much I purchased a second one for a family member who has the same drill.

Wasted time. Will not power Milwaukee M18 Dual String trimmer. Waited extra 2 days for this item just for it to be a cheap knock off. Wish it was not.

I have multiple Dewalt 18V power tools that I still use and this pair of batteries will allow me to continue to use them before I retire them. They are somewhat lighter than OEM but my initial assessment is that they hold a charge equal to OEM. I have had mixed reviews with other non-OEM battery packs so hopefully these will last over the long haul. I found these battery packs to be a bit difficult to insert and remove in both the charger and tools; hopefully this issue will resolve itself once the packs have had a chance to wear a bit. I applied some dry silicon lubricant to the wear points that seemed to help a little but they still take some effort to insert and remove. I give these packs an initial 4-star rating, with 1 star deduction for the insertion/removal issue.

This battery goes in and out of the drill like the OEM, but is quite hard to pull off the charger. Otherwise it is working well.

I have a large collection of DeWalt 18V tools. The batteries were always horribly expensive, and now that that type is several generations old, replacing them with OEM as they wear out is even more insanely costly. But, I don't want to have to replace all the tools, which work great as they always have. These no-name brand replacements are not perfect, but, they work fine for the lower-powered devices, such as drills. They do have a lower amp-hour rating than the originals, so they won't last as long, but they're cheap enough you can afford to just buy several and swap them out as needed. Where they don't measure up, and the reason for only 4 stars, is the high-power-draw devices, specifically the nailgun. That one, I've never found any generic batteries to work; nothing but the OEM ones will do. With a fully-charged, completely fresh one of these batteries, the nailgun still flashed the "low power" error. So, I do still have to keep one mega-costly OEM battery around for the nailgun. For the rest of my tools, this replacement works just fine, saving a ton of money. Recommended for that purpose!
