This toy plane servers perfectly as a holiday gift for kids, and I am just so happy how perfectly it serves the purpose! I have always been thinking about getting a toy plane as a gift, but thought that the quadrotor drones are too dangerous for kids. And then I found this water float plane that perfectly fits my needs. It's light enough that won't be causing any problems even when crashing. Actually it's so light that when I first received the box, I though it was an empty box! The entire plane is cut off from a chunk of foam, with very little and light motor and battery. So the plane can easily be floated on the water with the foam. And also thanks to the using of the foam, the plane can be airbone even at a very low speed, which also gives it another layer of safety. Lastly, because it's a floating plane, I just told my kid to only play it on the lakeside. So even in the worst case scenario, the plane would only crashing into the lake. Therefore I don't need to worry about the potential injury that this plane may cause to the kids or any other people nearby. And the crashed plane itself can still be retrieved because of the nature of the foam. Safety is always my top concern when buying toys for kids, and I am just so happy that this plane could help me forget that much hassle because of the design. Overall, I would really recommend this foam plane to whoever wants to get a flying toy for their kids over the quadrotor drones. This is so much safer that even the safest drone is not comparable.

Comes fully assembled, all I had to do was trim the elevator out. It flies great. It is smaller that I thought but it can turn fairly sharp and fly high-alpha. The small size means that the small brushed motors still provide good power to weight ratio. So far, the only complaint would be needing a screw driver to access the battery...but I guess that's to keep a tight enough seal for use on water. I took off from pavement and thar worked well. My son has flown a similar plane that didn't have an elevator, just throttle and Differential thrust, so this plane will build on what he already knows.

Took this out to my local park with a pond. Started out in a field, and it flew really well. I needed to do nothing to it. No adjustments or anything, it just flew and responded to my inputs as expected. Gyro works really well also. Doesn't like to take off in taller grass/leaves, but, that's to be expected based on the design. It really tries to keep you from being able to crash it. The only issues I had was turning into the wind, it would actually roll over and dive, but, was not hard to recover. Floated and took off really well in the water. Very sturdy with hard water landings. Even tested it a little bit upside down, and it does pull itself along. Don't expect to do any crazy aerobatics. It's a beginner plane and using differential thrust makes it nearly impossible to do anything "tricky". However, I did find that if you feather the throttle while pulling back on the right thumb stick, you can almost get it into a vertical hover. So, that was kind of fun :). Looking forward to flying this again!

I bought this plane to examine and help with an engineering project I am working on to build a lightweight UAV and flying it is very fun. I quickly got addicted to flying it. For a beginner RC plane it is pretty simple to fly and can take a beating. Since it only uses differential thrust for turning and has stability assist it won’t roll or loop and turning can be slow. I can imagine that this plane would be perfect for someone wanting to get into RC planes and not knowing much about aircraft control. I only dropped a star because the surface solder on the battery wire inside the plane broke after the ~10th flight and I had to re-solder it. Be gentle when removing the battery!

I was skeptical, but it really does fly and drive well in water! The controls are not easy but not exactly hard either. After a few sessions, you will get a feel how to control it. The styrofoam helps it float in water and more importantly sustain crash damage and still be able to fly. I crashed landed a few dozen times, but the plane is still going strong! Highly recommend!!!
