Features

  • Always Direct Access to Nutrition: Bees never have to leave the cluster. Hive Alive Fondant provides readily available nutrition when stores are too far from the bee cluster or its too cold to leave the cluster...when bees are building up in early spring but nectar flow is low...or when a cold snap in spring diminishes reserves. Beekeepers can successfully maintain a thriving colony in conditions both expected and unexpected
  • A Concentrated Dose of Hive Alive: To meet customer demand, weve added a measured dose of Hive Alive to every fondant package. The scientifically proven supplement was shown in trials to increase bee gut health, improve honey production, and help colonies stay strong for overwintering. In addition to essential carbohydrates, Hive Alive Fondant contains vitamins and amino acids critical to colony survival and bees love it!
  • Convenient for Bees and Beekeepers Alike: Instead of sugar syrup that cant be used during winter, Hive Alive Fondant provides a fresh, and direct food source. Compared to sugar syrup, the semi solid, sugar based food contains less moisture, eliminating the risk of drying out and preventing excess moisture in the hive. Perfect for emergency feeding, its quicker than sugar syrup
  • Easy to Use: Just cut a small square, tuck back flap, and place under cover board for direct access. The fine particle size sugar is easy for bees to digest, and you can quickly check fondant status without disturbing the colony. Can also be used in queen cages, Apideas, and nucs
  • Clean and Efficient No Waste: Big blocks and large pails are labor intensive, messy, and can dry out to remain untouched by bees. Unlike ordinary fondant, there is no heating process to produce unwanted byproducts that can harm bees. Any unused fondant can be wrapped in plastic and stored for later use or you can add water and melt it down for 1:1 syrup feed

  • Wow its like magic - they can't eat it fast enough
The bees can't eat it fast enough. Key point - pour or spray on top or dip in water just before you set it over the cluster. The bees went for it. In the Spring, my bees were in a dearth and very grumpy, but the whole tenner of the hive went from AAAAA! to a hushed aaaaahhh when set it on the top of the frames. Now I keep an extra box on hand for emergency drought situations. ... show more

  • The bees loved it!
The bees loved it! Installed in late winter to make sure the bees had some extra nutrients to get them going strong into spring, especially since we had to leave town for a couple weeks and couldn't monitor their sugar syrup or honey levels. still a little bit left in the bag here in April, so one bag per hive would probably last an entire winter and is a good insurance policy against potential starvation ... show more

  • Great product. Amazon packaging was not good.
This product is tried and true. I love it for winter feeding. Amazon just threw it in a box. Anyone who buys this knows it must lay flat. Amazon had it stuffed and bunched up. Had to flatten it for a day before I could store in freezer for use when needed.

  • My bees LOVE this!
The media could not be loaded. It's absolutely amazing how much my bees love love love love this stuff. I just cut a rectangle in the front center of the package, flip it upside down and they immediately come to it. I think that this is supposed to last a couple months, maybe, I'm not positive, but ours lasts a couple weeks, so I get two! Don't misunderstand, it isn't the amount of product in the package, it's that they LOVE it SO MUCH. ... show more

  • A great hive booster
This is one of those go to products to get the bees through that last bit of winter and prepare the hive for the February/March winter dearth until nectar and pollens become available. I'm hopeful that this will decrease my hive mortality rate and I'll have strong hives ready for spring splits to rebuild my apiary. ... show more

  • Easy Feeding Option
Our bees love this. Easiest way to feed them in the winter. We had a weak hive and I think this was the reason they survived.
