  • Using w/ EARC in a small office. Learn how the autoshut off feature works .
Style: 2.0ch 60W
This came "free" bundled with my second Hisense U6HF TV. It's not such a smooth operator with the EARC if you have other HDMI inputs added to your TV. ** The unit has an automatic shut off (some form of energy saving) that will turn the unit off in 15 minutes . Many reviewers complained about this and returned the unit. Two things 1) It will also turn your HISENSE TV off at the same time 2) There is a fix, actually written in the manual though in fine print. You need to have the audio source (computer, play station) playing audio loudly. Remember the sound bar is the actual output source but if I had Youtube playing very low on the computer--the sound bar can't "register" or "hear" the sound, but with the computer audio all the way up and Youtube all the way up, the shut off won't occur. The sound bar can be set to low so you won't get some booming loud sound, just what ever you choose via the sound bar. If the computer is not playing audio and I'm using my Hisense as a monitor--it (the sound bar --and TV) will shut off and I have to wiggle the mouse to reengage the monitor. You can play music at your computer but turn the sound bar volume down , and it won't shut off your important work for the day. This is all using the bar, as designed, as an EARC unit. Bad form on Hisense for not having a do not sleep , do not turn off setting. Oddly when I'm using the computer via HDMI, if I shut the sound bar off, the audio will come through the TV speakers even though in settings I've turned the TV audio off. It must only be a feature that works using the TV as a TV but not applicable for the inputs. When I shut the soundbar off and am using the Fire TV as a TV, the TV audio won't come on so once you put the sound bar on, it's God or Goddess. I wired the sound bar via EARC to the TV. I also have a computer running into the same TV via HDMI 2.0. Got good audio relative to the size. For the $50 it's currently listing at, I'd say grab one. It'll be fine for a small office, guest room, dorm. So the computer audio works too, as would gaming devices or anything else roped through the EARC TV w/ HDMI inputs. If you want to fiddle with the sound, you go to your TV audio settings if it's TV generated sound. Computer sound for computer tweaking. I turned the bass up a bit to make it sound less flat. I read somewhere that the TV (Hisense U6H) had comparable sound to the sound bar. I got curious and did do an A/B comparison and yes --they do sound similar, TV produces similar sound to the sound bar at differing volumes---that said when the volume is raised, the sound bar can play louder than the TV and to my ears sounds slightly better. ... show more

  • It's a good soundbar but....
Style: 2.0ch 60W
After first hooking it up to my new Hisense 55" 4k tv using the hdmi cable between the TV and soundbar in the TV hdmi arc input worked and sounded great then the electric went off for a few minutes to the apartments and when it came back on the TV would not recognize the soundbar nor let me select the audi for the arc in the TV settings. I messed with it every which way I could and still wouldn't recognize. So I left it all unplugged and unconnected over night and the next day hooked it up again and the TV recognized it and I could select in the audio settings. Then the electric went off again and I did all the same things from the first time and it will still not recognize the soundbar signal via hdmi arc. So I tried the Bluetooth feature on both TV and soundbar and it sounded crappy. So I hooked up the optical cable that comes with the soundbar so does the hdmi cable and it worked and sounded good via optical cable but doesn't sound as good as with using the hdmi cable. Why won't it work with using the hdmi cable????? All this didn't happen under a few days after the 30 day return was expired and Amazon has no answers to the problem or fixing it they just referred me to Hisense customer service which never answers my email and apparently won't call me back or answer when I call. So. I'M STUCK WITH A DUD SOUNDBAR THAT IS A LEMON. ... show more

  • Great sound bar system and good value
Style: 2.1ch 200W
I got the 200w amplified version. The sound quality is really balanced and good quality overall. The Roku remote controls the volume for the soundbar as advertised. The base rumbles but does not overload the overall sound or drown out voices. Watched Star Wars and enjoyed the space ship rumble and heard additional background sound effects on some scenes I had never heard before with other systems. The remote easily controls all of the settings. I didn't like the way my roku TCL tv controlled the sound output on auto detect so have reverted to manually selecting when it is using tv speakers or the ARC output for soundbar. I'm using the HDMI ARC audio output. I tested using optical but it was not better for anything. The tv had a problem once with no sound even when soundbar was powered off - I had to manually set it on tv speakers. The overall sound quality is good, but it does not get really really loud, just loud. Some movies seem to need to be on max volume for a full/loud theater sound where you can hardly hear it on half volume - this may just be my TCL tv. Playing music on blue tooth does get really loud. The blue tooth pairing is easy and sounds great. Note: it gets about as loud as my 300w Sony portable stereo but, for movies at least, the sound quality is much better than the Sony on max volume which is probably more important. The 3 equalizer settings are good and the base and treble fine tuning work well also and those are nice. It sounds exponentially better than tv speakers and is a great value, but I also got it on sale for $140 and that quality and price beat anything else available after the price got jacked up on a comparable VIZIO soundbar with good reviews, but the VIZIO is not ROKU tv/remote control integrated. I was going for an inexpensive soundbar with great quality sound and max wattage without getting into the energy wasting 300w + range and it definitely is about the best in that category. ... show more

  • Works well 24" like the size
Style: 2.1ch 108W
Sounds much better than the speakers on my Hisense 40" TV easy to install with HDMI note without HDMI on newer TV won't work correctly. You may have to change your settings it should be on auto for sound settings not PCM like smaller size. Sound volume works with TV remote note on my screen doesn't show volume but registers through light on bar. ... show more

  • great for basic tv use not music
Style: 2.1ch 108W
This is a good basic soundbar. I got it to use with a hisense tv, so you can use the tv remote to control volume which is nice. It sounds just fine with movies, tv, and games but nothing special and not good enough quality to listen to music if you're at all picky. I would buy it again as it's cheap enough and works well for what I need it for. ... show more
