Supports up to 250 lbs. Assembly required. Hillsdale's Pompei swivel counter stool offers a more formal option for kitchen island or entertaining space seating. The sturdy tubular steel frame is finished in a lustrous black/gold hue and features an Italian-style back with an organic scroll pattern and multicolor slate-inspired top. Upholstered in plush beige faux suede, the stool's round seat looks truly tempting, while the double legs below lend amply curved and highly stable support. I love the look and feel of this bar stool. Perfect height for my high table. However, one of the 4 that I ordered had a piece of the slate that crashed and fell out before I opened the box. Over time the plastic stoppers in the feet tend to fall out, although there aren't replacement stoppers shipped with it....and Hillsdale reps are far from helpful when you ask to buy more. And the scrolled top corners of the back...while great to hang a purse, etc., on it temporarily...tends to protrude far enough beyond the plane of the back of the stool that it is often bumped into by someone trying to walk past it. That said, if you watch for breakage and keep some metal bonding epoxy handy, and if there's about a meter of walking space between the placement of the stool and whatever wall or other obstruction, the issues can be mitigated and the design enjoyed for years to come. ... show more

They are beautiful stools, seem to be of good quality, match the Pompei dining set we purchased at the same time, and were easy to assemble. However we were quite surprised to find that they are much taller than the stools we are replacing; by four or five inches! So they just won't work where we wanted to use them. Also should mention that a slate piece came off of one of the stools during shipping. Returned both for refund. Regarding the refund: we are being charged $20.75 shipping for the chair that wasn't defective and $zero for the one that is. That seems fair enough. ... show more

These are very nice chairs. They match a name brand dining set that I purchased years ago, so I was very happy to find matching bar stools when we remodeled. There are a couple of other versions of this type of chair (slate accents, metal frame, ultrasuede cushion) and we even purchased one that was less than half what this one costs. This is absolutely as beautiful as the picture. I got a great deal on an open box one. Am looking for a 2nd one and maybe a 3rd! I Love Love Love it. Oh and it was super easy to put together. I am a not good at those things and even I could do it! Took me about 15 minutes. There are 4 screws for the swivel part top to attach to the bottom and 4 wood screws to attach the seat and that was it!!! Done and BEAUTIFUL!! ... show more

The only complaint I have is that the slate in the chair's top, which is the main reason we liked it, were placed crooked on a few pieces which could allow for them to become dislodged. I want to buy another one, but this is my only fear. They need to sell replacement tiles. ... show more
