My 93 yo mother selected this bed for her new downstairs bedroom. She liked the wood posts and the rail design. It was pretty easy to assemble and we were pleased by how sturdy it is. One rail was bent slightly in shipping, the box was damaged. At first it didn’t line up, but a little pulling on it and it moved back into the correct alignment. I also like how easy it is to access the bolts should it ever need tightening. We got the one without the trundle and I found three big plastic bins with lids that slide perfectly underneath and provide lots of storage. My Mom LOVES her new bed and likes that she can hold onto the rails to turn over at night. A good value! ... show more

I have looked for a suitable furniture item that my great Dane can lay down on in our living room. We tried loveseats and couches but he broke them down pretty fast after we bought them. Looked around and found this really nice looking sturdy daybed. I bought a 6 inch memory foam mattress to go with it and my dogs absolutely love this. Much cleaner than a couch because every week we can just wash the bedding. It really looks nice in our living room which surprised me. Best purchase this year! The only thing that we didn’t like about the bed, is that it has too long of screws where the mattress fits down onto the daybed. If left the length that they came in, they would punch a hole in the mattress, so my husband had to take a Dremel and cut off the extra length on to of the screws. Be prepared to do this if you order this bed. It comes from Asia somewhere and I don’t think we would be able to get replacement screws or ones that were the right length by writing the company. Other than that I am really pleased and also with how sturdy the metal platform is to place the bed on. No slats but a very cleverly thought up platform that supports 450 pounds. Easy to assembly,looks great,very sturdy,good price.The only problem was the screws were a little long at the top were the mattress goes,but my husband cut them off,just to be on the safe side that they did not put a hole in the sheet or mattress.Other than that I love it.Would buy again.

Really good quality. Sturdy and looks great. The only negative I’d say is that it takes a long time to put together because it’s a lot of parts, and be careful because it comes in two boxes with two separate sets of parts and instructions. I bought this for a guest room/home office. It's sturdy and was very easy to put together. I have purchased other furniture from Hillsdale before and it is a high quality product. As in many of the reviews I read on line; the bolts used to assemble the day bed protrude inward and could damage the mattress. Just cut the bolts off after you assemble the bed. No problem. Bolts being too long should not stop you from buying this bed. I put a 12" memory foam mattress on the daybed. Optimally; a 9" or 10" mattress would have been a better fit. The 12" mattress sits too high and does not expose enough of he bed frame, which is beautiful. I did not purchase the trundle that fits beneath the bed because I wanted the storage space. There is plenty of space under the bed. There is 14" of space from the floor to the bed. I fit 8 "under bed" Sterlite storage containers (stacked 2 high) under the bed with no issues. I am very happy with my purchase and I recommend this daybed. ... show more
