My 17 year old cat and my rescue 3 year old really liked this at first. But by the last 8 cans they lost interest. They ate it but left a lot . I wish they had not because my 17 year's coat really started to have a nice shine to it again. I am supposing he can't seem to keep his coat nice anymore because of his age. I know Merit cleans him because she just adores him. I have tried another good brand they really like it but my boy's coat isn't clean and shinning again. It was the grain free sensitive stomach chicken pate'. This is what I really need but can't seen to find all 3, in other brands. I just want to start out by saying that we have two cats - one healthy, and one with pancreatitis - I will NOT purchase this for our healthy cat because of the ridiculous price. If it were cheaper, I would love to solely feed this food to both cats. Our cat with pancreatitis really needed wet food though. I don't feel like this is worth the price, but it is one of the cheaper higher-end wet foods. I switched our cat over to this as soon as we got his pancreatitis diagnosis a few years ago. He will not touch it if we give it to him straight from the can. It is kind of dry. However, it is a very simple fix: just add a little water. Also, he used to have hairballs often when he was younger, and he doesn't anymore. ... show more

Helped calm her stomach. (overall less puking around the house) I'd mix in some water to help with my cats urine crystals. That actually made her like the food more as well.

I had been giving my cat Blue Buffalo food and my cat after eating would act like she was going to gag but wouldn’t quite. I called my vet explaining what my cat was doing and she said she had heard of other cats reacting this way to that brand. She suggested this brand and the sensitive stomach formula. For years this has been the only food my cat could digest so I get it delivered monthly by the case. Unfortunately as of 2023 the quality has declined. The batch received Feb 2023 was dry as bone. I had to add water before feeding it to my cat. The March 2023 batch has moisture again but the food is oddly crumbly and immediately gave my cat diarrhea. I thought she might just be sick but as soon as I switched her to a different food her digestion normalized. Something is wrong with the quality control these days. Beware! My fur kid loves this food. She wasn’t excited to not be eating chicken and wild rice but once the vet told me she needed to have something less rich we got this and she has been better. It’s very moist. Hills science is a good brand
