I bought this light to go on an extra pistol I keep for the house. I looked at it as a small investment to see if it was worth it for the blue laser. I must say, I couldn’t be more pleased. The blue laser was well worth the investment. The light was just icing on the cake. I have used this one for a few months now and had no problems with the laser holding zero. I have also not had any issues with the laser/light functioning. It is a typical 600-800 lumen light with decent area coverage. The blue laser is SUPER visible in low light conditions. It is also very visible in daylight conditions. This was important to me, as the red lasers can be difficult to see in daylight. I will absolutely buy more and recommend this unit highly! !!UPDATE!! After owning this light and laser combo for several months it pulled a Samsung and melted down. It was sitting on my night stand and I was sitting there watching TV. I heard a pop then hissing. I looked around and saw this light smoking like crazy. I grabbed it to see if I could see what was going on. It was super hot. I ran it outside because of the smoke, thinking it was surely not good for humans. I quickly got it off my pistol before any damage to the weapon occurred and left it outside to meltdown in a safe spot. The light was not on the charger. It was never soaked or subjected to any water. The battery just blew. This may have been a one off thing, but I couldn’t leave my review alone with the serious issue that I had. My experience may be a one off. Everyone else may not have any issues. I just think this one did not stand the test of time due to actually being fired on a weapon regularly. ... show more

The laser and light are perfect. But I'm considering returning due to one flaw pointed out in the attached picture. One side grabs onto the rail very well, the other side doesn't cover nearly the same area, seems to barely grab on. Feels like it could dent or damage the rail, or just not hang on as tight. Bruce, please have the boys in the lab fix this to make this combo perfect. This is most likely the reason for most returns if you get any. I estimate the little piece just needs to be a millimeter taller to match the other side. You could send a new one to existing customers to correct the problem. Keep making those videos. UPDATE: In the spirit of fairness, installed on a different gun and the fit seems way better, although both sides not exactly even. I'm keeping it. Battery life seems good so far. ... show more

One-Year Update (Don't waste your money!!!) After 1. 5 years my Hi-Light Combo light died. The light is mounted to my S&W SD9VE handgun which rarely sees any use except for some range time every 4-5 months or so. Both the firearm with the attached laser light are stored in my gun safe and are never exposed to the elements or have been dropped. After putting rough 1000 rounds with the light attached, the internal components have broken free and you can feel it rattling around inside the housing. When the unit "DOES" work, the blue laser and flashlight stay on all the time and you CAN NOT power them off, The battery needs to die to do that. The 4 buttons that control light functions are now useless and you have to hold down the flashlight button if you want the light to come on., the strobe feature no longer functions. The bright blue Laser is now dull/dim and the only way to brighten it up is by holding down the button that is supposed to power it on/off. (What's the Issue?) The issue is that HI-LIGHT has produced a product (Combo light) that CAN NOT handle the recoil of the firearm you put it on and the internals ends up breaking free over time. This is clearly a manufacturing defect that should be covered under warranty no matter if you have gone past their 1 year period. When reaching out to Hi-Light I was informed that there was nothing they could do and for the $160 I spent on their product which sites on the gun just for looks basically, all I received was an apology (See Below Hi-Light response). "Unfortunately, your order is no longer covered by the one-year warranty we offer on all purchases. We sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience this may cause you. " Hi-Light didn't even offer to take a look at it to see if it was user abuse or a manufacturing issue. I could understand if I had beat this thing up in the field, but literally, this thing has been pampered sitting in my gun safe for the past year, and occasionally used at an indoor gun range. I never even got the chance to use it since I shoot at an indoor, fully lit range, and the blue laser cant be seen on a lit target. I will post a video soon if HI-Light doesn't warranty their product after reading my update. You can do better HiLight! First Impression Review Purchase this blue laser and flashlight combo for my Smith & Wesson SD9VE. What an awesome product. The strobe and flashlight are insanely bright, don't look at the light directly or you will be blinded for a few minutes. The body of the unit seems very well constructed of lightweight material, this thing literally feels like it weighs ounces. The body conduction looks and feels high-end. My only complaint while small is that the corner ends are a little sharp and could have been rounded to polish out this fine product. The push buttons on both sides are very responsive and easy to operate with a light finger press. The flashlight head sits perfectly flush with the barrel end and does not protrude out further like other flashlights. This light looks like it was made for my firearm. The light came precharged which was nice to see it working right out of the box. As for the blue laser.. WOW! Insanely powerful and you can see a decent beam trail to your target. I can't speak for battery life just yet, haven't had it long enough to kill the battery but the bottom of the unit does have a led indicator light to keep you aware of battery life. The beam is bright and the flash is to but it does die fast like battery time is 40 minutes straight at max but for 50 bucks I expected that I bought 2 of them b4 and both have had this problem , it does look cool on my gun but if your looking for a long lasting beam for a fire arm your going to keep for a while I’d say save up and get that olight fasho “buy once cry once” ... show more
