If your stock coil still works, and you're just here for the CDI, do NOT install the one that comes with this. After five or six times pulling the coil off to check my spark plug, it fully broke. If you're planning on doing big bore and will be checking your spark plug often, this is garbage. Also, trust the reviews that say not to use the spark plug lol go with an NGK and you'll be golden. The CDI is fine, I guess, it at least works. Only reason I'm not returning the whole thing is because I needed the CDI. ... show more

    • Does not work right
Purchased this kit for my son. The spark plug burned out in 20 min. The CDI doesn't work good. Once my son put it in his moped it started bogging down. We switched to a another CDI and the problem went away. The reason he replaced the old one was because of an issue with starting the moped. This CDI fixed the starting issue but caused worse issues while driving. I gave 2 stars just because it did fix the starting issue. I guess you get what you pay for. I'm not able to return it because my son threw the spark plug away when it burned out. ... show more

The reason I give it four stars is because the spark plug that cane is not the spark plug shown in the picture but good thing I had extra spark plugs laying around so I hooked up the coil the new CD I bought with all my scooter gave it a test run and did I feel a big difference soon as I pulled the throttle it took off but I am about to order a high performance carburetor also fromhttp://jandjpowersports.com/product/49cc-super-flow-carb/ I try to find it on Amazon but they do not have it on there ... show more

So I decided not to use the spark plug as people said not to and combined it with an NGK r plug..... I did notice that I am getting 0-20 faster...not like omg fast but noticable and it starts up on the first try now which is great

    • Better power off the line
Installed the coil and CDI on my Genuine Buddy 150 scooter. Seems to have significantly more punch off the line, and slightly easier starting. I think it has a better low end advance curve. No change in top end performance though. I run a good NGK plug as well, toss out the one they give you. Easy install, and cheap. Get it! ... show more

Just what the doctor ordered! Slapped this set onto a friends' Lance Vintage and everything snapped right into place (aside from the weird angle of the plug, that is...). Scooter fired right up and off she went - thing had nearly 6k miles already and was sounding a bit rough. Hard to gauge any change in performance, honestly, but she says it's got a bit more 'pep'.
