I have never owned a platform bed before, but I must say this took my husband and I roughly 20 minutes to put together (king size) and it had pre-drilled holes to attach it to our headboard. Sturdiest bedframe we have owned in awhile. We tend to break our bedframes after a few years because they are usually just cheap particle board, but I am hoping this one lasts for awhile. We ended up with the 18 inch, and regret not ordering the 14. 18 inches doesnt sound like its tall, until you add your mattress on top. Our weiner dog is unable to jump on top of our bed and my husband who is 6'5 - his feet dangle over the side when he sits. Its super tall, but we love it because we are both tall people. I would order again.

Hello, I have a 9 inch foam mattress I was looking to put on top of the frame without using a box spring. It was very important for the frame to be noise free, but it was not. It is actually loud and creaks when you rollover. Maybe if you have box spring or a big thick mattress it wouldn't make any noise, but if you are in my position I would not get this frame. I have had a couple (one wooden and one metal) I have tried to use without a box spring and both were noisy. I think if you want a completely noise free, no chance it squeaks option, purchase a solid frame that has a top piece without slats of any kind. Maybe solid wood or another hard material.

The frame was very easy to assemble. Took maybe five minutes to have it all together and ready for the mattress. I used bunkie boards because when I put the mattress directly on the frame it just didn't feel completely solid. The thing about these metal frames is that they do not create a consistent feel when you lay on a large Cal King mattress without the bundle boards but I expected that going in. Fast delivery. Easy install.
