So i researched what type of fertilizer banana plants like and the code is 8-10-8. I found this food on amazon which was a good price. Many banana fertilizers are much higher priced let me tell you. I bought this, added it to my three plants and they are thriving and doing very well. I am very pleased. It is granular, doesn't look like it's a time release type fertilizer, but in my opinion it works very similar, the granules do not dissolve immediately but hang around on top of the soil and slowly dissolve w/each watering. It's a nice size bag, will last a long time. I will forever put this on my banana plants. What i mean by thriving: 1. Turned a really nice darker green color than they were on the day i purchased them. The leaves are very healthy looking. 2. Grows very quickly! New banana leaves keep growing out the center at an incredibly fast rate. one right after the other, they just keep coming! I even measured on a few occasions and in one nite, measuring b4 going to bed and again wen i got up, at least 3 inches of growth. Thats how fast the leaves were growing out from the center. That was not the growth rate at the base of the plant however. 3. These results were from the plant still being in the pot they came in! I hadn't even planted them in the yard yet.

I’m a terrible gardener and bought a house that had banana plants. After looking at reviews I decided to try this one out and after one weeks time, the banana grew a new set of leaves and two have grown banana hearts/fruit.

I have been using this fertilizer for decades. It used to be hard to find in my area. When I would locate some I would horde it so I was always assured of having some on hand. Back in the 80's I planted some shrubs in less than perfect soil. They hardly grew. I applied some of this fertilizer in early spring and by the end of the summer they exploded (not literally). Since that time I have applied it every spring and all my shrubs thrive. I have told many people about it and the ones that actually use can't believe the results. They are amazed. I even apply some to potted plants that come back in the spring and they just keep growing bigger and bigger with lots of new blooms. I would definitely recommend this fertilizer. Incredible results.

Searched internet for correct fertilizer for my banana plant said 8-10-8 as banana needs nitrogen, grew a foot overnight, well maybe not a foot , however has taken off with very healthy look. I am pleased, when this gets low will definitely reorder.

We opened up the fertilizer that arrived a few days ago and we were kind of surprised how clumpy and very moist it was, we were expecting the granulars to be dry, it looked like this bag had been sitting around awhile..we applied almost half of a bag throughout the garden over the weekend and hopefully the moisture of the product doesn’t have any effect..
