This is my second pair of this particular shoe, the first pair lasted almost 5 years. Hi-Tec shoes are very well-built and have served me well. They have a relative light weight although they are rugged and very supportive. They are warm enough for winter use in the mid Eastern US, and breathable enough for warm weather use too. The tread holds up very well and is flexible enough that they do not feel "clunky" or overly stiff. My previous pair held up great and I bought them again with purpose. I definitely recommend them although the price point is on the lower end for hiking shoes.
