  • My first Ebike and I love it! My first Ebike and I love it!
Color: Black+Rear Basket
This is a great Ebike and I’ve had great customer service. I contacted the seller with questions about my order and they were quick to respond and were very helpful. Back to the bike though, it’s my first Ebike so I don’t have anything to compare it to but this bike has a lot of power! The pedal assist makes it so easy to ride and a lot of fun. The real fun is using the throttle! I’ve got it up to 28mph!! What a rush! It’s also pretty easy to put together it didn’t take my partner & I long at all. The seat is actually comfortable and I love that it has shock absorbers built into it. My one complaint is I find it hard to fold the frame part. I ended up kicking the frame really hard to get it to release. This could be just me needing to learn the proper technique. Suggestions welcomed. 🙂 Also there are a lot of videos online on how to put it together, how to use the bike and how to fold it. They make it look so easy. 😆 Overall I’m happy with my purchase and I would recommend this bike to anyone. Update to add that my rear basket was shipped separately days later which is why it’s not in these photos. ... show more

  • A Solid Bike for Kid Pickup
Color: Midnight Black
The bike is pretty good and enjoyable to ride. When I first got it, I wasn’t completely satisfied because the tires were much fatter than I expected, and I had never ridden a fat-tire bike before. One downside of the fat tires is that the seat height becomes a bit higher, which makes it slightly harder for my wife to ride comfortably. Luckily, I’m the main person using the bike for daily commuting and dropping off/picking up the kids from school. After riding it for a few days, though, I started to appreciate one big advantage of the fat tires: I can easily ride on grass. That has actually been very convenient during school pickup and drop-off, since I don’t always need to stay on the walkway. Riding across the grass makes things much easier and more flexible. Overall, I’m happy with the bike and like it a lot. One improvement I’d love to see is better built-in security features. For example, a rear wheel lock that can be locked with a key, and an alarm system that sounds if someone touches or moves the bike after it’s locked. I think these features would not be difficult to implement, but would make the bike much more appealing. ... show more

I up graded to this bike. took me about 2 hours to accomplish putting it together I like the look. I am 73 years old and the step through is GREAT!! it's a nice ride; battery life seems to be longer than my last bike. it is a touch heavy for an old man like me, but not a big deal but it fits me well easy to control love the white color really stands out ... show more

  • Mostly a great bike, but there are some negatives
This bike is a nice and has powerful pedal assist. But there are a few things I wish I had known before ordering it. - It's a tank: huge and tall. The pictures show a seemingly normal size bike, but this thing is huge with a long wheelbase. If you set the saddle height correctly, then you're perched up pretty high. In retrospect, I would have selected one of their folding bikes which look like they're low riders compared to this one. - The handlebars have more gadgets, screens, and buttons than the cockpit of an airliner. The manual skims over the use of some of them and doesn't mention the rest. - I couldn't figure out to adjust the stem height and there's no information in the manual nor online, but lucky for me, that's not critical for a comfortable ride. I read in another review that it's a bad idea to try adjusting it, so keep that in mind before purchasing this bike. - The lights won't turn off. The handlebar mounted computer thingie indicates that the bike is OFF but the front and rear lights stay on (I don't know if they detect motion nearby or if they're programmed to automatically turn on when it's dark). The user manual doesn't have any information on this, so I disconnected the head light and that did the trick. I'll have to remember to reconnect it before riding. - The user manual has pictures showing black bike parts on top of other black bike parts and you can't really see what's what. I ended up finding a copy of the manual online and enlarging the images so I can see them clearly. - The user manual refers to parts and instructions that belonged to a previous version of the bike and no longer apply. For example, it says to twist the throttle on the right side of the handlebars to engage the pedal assist. The handlebars don't twist at all. I had to explore all the buttons and doodads to figure out how to adjust the pedal assist. - Let's talk about the pedal assist for a moment. There are two little buttons near the left handle that increase or decrease the pedal assist. Those are going to be hard to press while you're riding and navigating traffic so choose your pedal assist level wisely before taking off. - There are 7 gears for the rear derailleur, but you'll need an extra-long thumb or forefinger to engage them while keeping your hands on the handlebars. Choose the right gear wisely before taking off. There's a toggle switch thingamajig that will change gears from the hardest (7) to the easiest (1) but only in that direction. - There's a button that says "Auto" and I have no idea what it does. Haven't found any information on it either. Auto eject? That'll be fun. - I removed the bottle cage that was on the downtube because what's the point of having a step-through style bike if you block the space with a bottle cage? - I ordered black saddlebags with my green bike. The saddle bags did not arrive and there's no indication that they were sent separately. I tried reporting "missing items", but Amazon says I have to file a return request before I can report missing items. I managed to find a way to contact Heybike and we'll see what they have to say about it. It'd be a shame to return the bike just because the saddlebags are missing. - It has the cutest horn! Not a bike bell, but a horn. I love that detail. - It also has turn indicators. But I doubt anyone will notice them, so use your arms to indicate which way you're turning. - I have some experience repairing bikes so it wasn't difficult for me to assemble the Cityrun. Without that experience, some folks will have problems with the assembly. - The tires do not have information on the right pressure (normally found on the sidewalls), neither does the manual. I decided 60 psi was a good place to start. In general, it's a good bike. I deducted some stars for the assembly instructions being unclear or wrong, for the missing saddle bags, and for the pedal assist buttons being hard to access while riding. ... show more

  • Love it
Color: White+Rear Basket
Yes this bike is awesome I ride it to work 5 days a week and only use 40 to 50 percent of battery life each day that 5 miles to work and 5 miles home. I use the Rev button for whenever I stop at stop signs as a boost off and mostly keep it in 3 to 5 peddle assist depending on what street type I'm on. I've gotten it up to 31.6 mph I also charge it every night back to 100. Just so I know I won't get stranded. But it works perfectly for what I need. My dogs love going for bike runs with me as well. They pull me so no need for battery usage then. Lol ... show more

  • Poor quality control and poor Customer Service
Color: Forest Green
My wife and I bought two Heybike Ranger ebikes from amazon and both are broken out of the box. One bike will not turn on...with a fully charged battery and the other has a battery that will not charge at all. I have been trying to get help, but get tangled up in all of the "customer service" roadblocks. I did as much troubleshooting as I dare, including checking wire connections battery pins, resetting the battery many times. I believe the problem is in the electronic controller or somewhere in the wire loom. I thought I would try taking the battery out of the other bike to insert in bike #1, only to find that battery will not charge at all (after 24 hrs of charging). I am so frustrated with the lack of quality control. I am also disappointed with the difficulty in getting help to solve the problem. Amazon needs to stand behind their customers and enforce quality control and customer service solutions. ... show more

  • Parts good. Directions and photos not.
Color: Black
Assembling the bike from the box is not a rapid process because the photos and instructions are not completely explanatory. I still am unable to remove the battery per instructions. All of the parts and materials seem to be solid and well made and fit well.
