I originally bought this as a Christmas gift. Once received and opened by my fiancé, he realized it was broken. The car would not turn left and would only turn right. No problem right? I’ll just send it back. I messaged the seller my issues and requested that I get either a refund or a replacement. I was told by a general Amazon statement that they would reach out in 2 days… 4 days passed and I still heard nothing. So I then just processed it as a return through Amazon and I got a new (working) one within a week after sending back the defective RC car. I still haven’t heard back from the seller. That’s the only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 Other then that, I would recommend this RC a thousand times over to anyone who loves them. This pack looks really good, but a lot of the parts are lower quality plastic and the tires wear out fast. For those of you who may have purchased X mods (the original RC cars) in the past, this seems like it would be a close second. Bought this for our Grandson for Christmas. He really likes play with the HexBug RC Car. It's nice quality & the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because in playing with the RC Car & trying to turn it, it slows down or won't turn & investigating we see that the body of the RC car on the back tires rubs against the body. So it doesn't totally run like it should due to no clearance. ... show more

This unit has enough parts for both hexmods kits. Make sure to buy both for best results. Requires steady hands, good eyes, and patience. Recommended that you use a large white tray or a large tray with parchment paper and a good pair of tweezers during assembly. Parts are small, hard to see, easily dropped or misplaced, and you are totally out of gas if you lose a part. ... show more

We only got one drive out this car before it broke. A part popped out that we aren't able to get back in, and now it is undriveable. It seems clear enough how it should be assembled, but nobody in our house can figure how to maneuver the pieces so that they go back together. The ball shaped end of the plastic piece in the picture is supposed to slip into that white cavity, and then the other part next to it is supposed to slip over the other end. It doesn't seem possible to do without completely disassembling the car. My grandchild was so excited to play with this car and try out all the different parts, but it was a huge fail.
