  • For this price, I doubt you could beat it.
This is my first time ever incubating button quail eggs, or any eggs, but I am at a over 50% hatch rate with eggs I got also from Amazon from La Bella farms. I've read a lot of stories where this hasn't been the case. My advice is keep it in a warm room without any draft. THE STYROFOAM IS PART OF THE INCUBATOR DO NOT THROW IT AWAY. The. When you have stable temps open the top hatch to make it a flowing air incubator and put the temp at 99.5, the temperature is insanely consistent then. I never once had it drop low or anything. The rollers worked fine for me despite what others have said. It wasn't a perfect hatch rate but I read reviews saying less than 50. And I'm at 7/12 with no assistance of any eggs. Good luck folks I hope y'all have many happy hatches! The price you pay with thos incubator cannot be beat ... show more

  • Pretty good
I this is my first and only incubator so I really don’t have much to compare it to.. my hatch rate was 50 percent which I’m happy with cause I’m fairly certain it’s a fertility issue.. I got a second hydrometer, as long as you make sure you cut the zip tie and bring them temperature wire to egg level my temperature read very accurate.. I’m not to pleased with the humidity on here it doesn’t have a reader on the incubator which I was fine with that’s why I bought the hydrometer the same day but it was very hard to regulate, the instructions say to add a bottle of water daily, but that would jackthe humidity up to 93 percent which was way to high then I tried a half bottle of water still to high then just a squirt and that was okay ish but wouldn’t stay long so I feel like o may have drown a couple that pipped n didn’t hatch but I’m to weak to crack them open to investigate weather it was a incubation issue or fertility issue.. if you have the extra money to splurge on a more expensive incubator I suggest it but if your just starting out don’t wanna spend to much this will do the trick outta 10 eggs I did get 5 extremely healthy and active quail…. ... show more

  • learning curve
I did not do my homework before trying this. Only hatched out 3 eggs the first time and 1 the second. A more expensive unit may have a humidity conrol or at least a meter built in. Bought some little temp/ humidity meters for next time. The fan makes some noise, so I put it in the pumphouse and maybe didn't check it often enough. Pretty good instructions , not too sure of the auto turner, temp seemed constant. Good unit for the money. ... show more

  • Reliable and easy to assemble and use
It's already my 2nd incubator because the first one was a bit difficult to use - especially for my children, hence I was looking for one which is more simple to use and finally found this one and it's really super simple. It took me just 5 minutes to assemble and learn the two functions which are needed to know: first - to set the target temperature works with hitting the set button and then adjust the temperature with plus and minus and then hit the set again and done. And to activate the rollers turning the eggs can be done with a simple short-click on the plus button and it will work for a minute or so, but this is just to see if everything works - it's actually not needed because it's turning the eggs automatically every 90 minutes anyway. Hence if you're good with the 100f target temp, you don't have to hit any button at all the whole time. The fan is noticeable, but still not too loud. It comes with an extra insulation if needed and also with the hedging net and some water bottles to refill the water about every 2 days. Simple as that. The set includes a 110v (works also for 240v) power supply, but comes also with a 12v power cable with clamps to be used with a normal 12 (e.g. car) battery. No complaints so far. ... show more

  • Good Incubator for small home and hobby use
I found this incubator actually fun to use, it has a nice small footprint so if you short on space this is for you. I have been using incubators since 1973, I tried two new types this year, this incubator was a pleasure to use, the second type I purchased was just junk all around(i wrote a review on that ). This is a small incubator, although product info states it is capable of holding certain amounts according to bird type, ie; chicken, turkey, etc. You must truly gauge how you set up eggs on the turner rods according to egg size, the roller type turners do shift eggs forward according to egg placement (point to point, etc.) You must periodically view the eggs to ensure they dont bunch up at the end of the rods, in in the middle of the row. This is different then a rocker/cradle type turner. In all I had better then average success with shipped eggs, and my home eggs. I bought two of these incubators , ran them at same time with same egg groups split between incubators, had consistent results during incubation period, hatching period. I would recommend this product, electrical connections are solid, ease of hydration during incubation period, do not let the styrofoam on the outside fool you into thinking it is not a good product, it holds the temp well and the inner box is thick walled, does not move or flex, this product will last, glad I bought two. I hope this review helps. ... show more

  • During the incubation the fan broke
While my chickens were hatching the fan broke. I had to get them to a box with a light quickly. The temperature was too hot after the fan broke. It was very noisy during use I can only imagine it was the broken fan blade that caused the extreme noise.

  • Good idea, poor instructions
We were so excited to hatch our first eggs! Put 15 eggs in there, watched it for 3 weeks, eggs started peeping, but only 4 hatched. I put a standard mercury thermometer in there and realized that the temperature is about 5 degrees off! I had to turn it up to 104.0 for it to reach 99 Fahrenheit inside. Now the alarm beeps constantly. I cannot figure out how to calibrate the machine. I want it to work, but the instructions are no help. It says the temp can go up to 122, but the high temp alarm cannot be raised to any higher than 104. I'm about ready to throw it out the window. I had really hoped this would be a good machine. I wanted to take it to school to teach my students about eggs, but I can't if it beeps every 5 minutes. ... show more

  • Decent
I have my first chicken eggs in it right now awaiting for hatching. It seems easy enough to use, I just do not like how it does not have anything for humidity readings.
