I've been replacing seating in various places in my home, and was interested in adding a couple of bar stool-style chairs in my kitchen and my home office. I gave this pair from Hera's Palace a try. It's my first item from this brand, and I am impressed. UNPACKING AND ASSEMBLY The stools come packed safely in a relatively small cardboard box. The box does not appear large enough for 2 chairs! All parts were in perfect condition, with no shipping damage. The pieces are all wrapped with plastic and foam. I really keep hoping that manufacturers will reduce the use of foam, for environmental and waste-disposal reasons. I'm happy to report that most of the protective material for these stools is paper. All necessary hardware, and a quality angle wrench, is included. Putting these stools together is straightforward. Four screws are attached to the seat using the included wrench. The footrest needs to be aligned with the front of the seat. Except for the screws that go into the seats, the rest of the assembly is simply pushing parts together. One pole is pushed onto the large bases, then the assembled seat is pushed onto that. The first time you sit on the seat, everything tightens neatly into place. I had both stools fully assembled in under 15 minutes. There was one extra screw! COMFORT The leather cushions are made of thick material, with a decent amount of padding -- just enough to be comfortable, but still pretty stiff. When you sit on the seats, they give a nice, shock-absorber drop-down. The foot rests are placed well, and are large enough to get both feet onto them. The swiveling is very smooth and noiseless. I use one of these as an office chair, and I can work for hours in it without discomfort. CONTROLS The height-control lever activates easily. The seat drops down quickly while sitting in it, or pops up when no weight is in it. The stools hold their height settings. CONCLUSION I really like these stools. They are made well, with just enough of a cushion, and have smooth adjustments. I highly recommend them. ... show more

I was so happy when I got my two Hera bar stools today after in only a couple of days. These are not only pretty and comfortable due to the thick cushioned seat but the base is made of galvanized steel plating that hugs the ground with a rubber ring to protect your floors. I chose the Brown PU Leather bar stools, but it also comes in Grey and very easy to keep clean with a wet towel. The design especially looks nice at my kitchen bar (see picture). True you have to put them together as most furniture you receive in the mail, but everything was pre-drilled and came with the screws and you don’t need anything other than a small hammer to secure the base. I used a kitchen dish towel to pad the place where I hit before tapping on the foot rest to make sure it is securely attached. Just to be on the safe side, I stood on the base and tried to pull it loose and it didn’t give an inch. Literally in just a few minutes everything was put together and ready to use. Although there was a book that came with them, the instructions were pretty self-explanatory. Just in case you need help or have a question, there is both an email listed and a 1800 number and their hours of operation. I took pictures before and after the assembly. The product dimensions are 16.5 D x 17.71 W x 49.6” H and swivels 360 degrees plus adjusts from 28.34 to 33.0 inches. These HERA'S PALACE PU Leather Adjustable Swivel Bar Stools Set of 2, Modern Bar Chairs with Footrest and Back arrived safely wrapped in bubble wrap and paper. There were no flaws or scratches in any of the pieces. The stitching is also nice. These stools are incredibly simple to assemble. It took me longer to unwrap everything than it did to make the stools. You only need to screw in four screws with the included alan wrench. These stools have four settings, allowing you to use them at different counter heights. I combined these with another set from Hera's Palace , and I think they look great together. I’m 6.1 and I felt the footrest did not protrude far enough for me to sit comfortably; especially, since the seat does slant slightly forward. However, I ordered these chairs for the children's breakfast counter, and they all felt at ease sitting in them. ... show more

I love these bar stools. They have a wide height range, so I can actually use them at my dining room table or counter bar area. They’re very comfortable; I like the cushioning and subtle softness of the material. And the gray color is a nice, neutral color that goes with most kitchen or dining area motifs. The swivel and pump actions are pretty smooth, too. Assembly was very easy. It took me less than 20 minutes to fully assemble both stools. I found these to be a great set of chairs. They were super easy to set up, only really 3 pieces. All components are included that are needed for assembly (an Allan key is the only tool needed). They work well and are quite comfortable. I would say the bar I am using them for is a little on the tall side and these chairs work great for it. I do not feel like I'm sitting low.
