  • Best Light I have found for civilian self defense
I bought a few of these as gifts for friends and ended up buying one for myself as well. I personally think its the best light on the market; for my needs anyway. I'm sure it has all been covered in previous reviews, but here are my reasons why this light is worth it: Cost- Its half the price of similar lights of similar construction, yet with more lumens Weight- it has a lightweight feel, yet sturdy and constructed well- easy to throw in pocket Waterproof- It has a single o-ring on the rear and a double up front for the led housing. Switch Button- it takes a second to get used to, but I like how the rear button switch is actually recessed within the housing; keeps the switch from being accidentally turned on and battery running down without being aware Default is 1000 lumens- this is actually the best feature IMO. I dont need a strobe, varying colors, reduced lumens... I need a powerful, blinding shot of light at a moments notice to buy me a few seconds. If not... I would go get a mini mag light at home depot? Every time I power this light on, it defaults to the brightest setting. I'm not wanting to mount it on my AR, I'm not wanting a pressure switch, I'm not reviewing a dope sheet in the middle of the night and requiring low visibility... What I am doing is being a typical civilian, unable or not wanting to 'carry' everywhere I go. This light is perfect and if used properly, all you really need to make it home or to your vehicle safely. Love this product. The additional features of reduced lumens and strobe are great, but they require a very sensitive touch. Again... for my needs, I just don't foresee me having the 'touchscreen' sensitivity in a moments notice and startled. Still worth every penny knowing I will never use the additional options. Order with confidence. ... show more

  • I love excellent manufactured products and this is a great one
I love excellent manufactured products and this is a great one. I only buy very good equipment. As far as a flashlight, I have several surefire led lights that are great. They use the expensive 123 batteries and on high output at 500 lumens it will run 1-1 1/4 hour. I also have a Lupine 750 lumen headlamp rated at 750 lumens and it has the rechargeable lith batteries. Great headlamp but expensive, ($350.00). I have had the Lupine for 6 trouble free years now and I feel the Lupine is worth every penny of it. This Helotex G4 is every bit as good as the Surefire and Lupine in terms of quality materials and construction and at a price of $50.00 it is a steal. I put the Outlite 3.7v 18650 3600mAh Lith battery in it and it is brighter than my Lupine rated at 750 lumens. The Helotex puts out a extremely bright white light, it has a great center beam on high and in total darkness with no street lights the beam will easily show a car license plate 1-1 1/2 blocks away. This light also has a dim setting and a strobe that will blind any wood be attacker. This is now my main light and with the rechargeable batts it is saving me alot of $$$$$. I am going to buy one for my Jeep, boat, camper, truck. I guarantee you that you will not be disappointed with this light. There is only 1 possible negative and that is it may be to bright for some people. I will try to wear this light out and if I do I will buy another one, GREAT PRODUCT............... ... show more

  • Did not last
Updated my review, at 5 months this flashlight has quit working. It acts like a flashlight from the 80's that tries to come on if you tap it with your hand. This was my go to light and was well cared for. Old review was 5 stars Great flashlight. Very bright and has a nice low beam.

  • G4 Helotex ....Best Bang For Your Buck.
I bought th is G4 back in 2013 to mount on my AR platform, when the batteries died every few days, I bought the 4 Outlite rechargeable batteries and haven't looked back. This light was way too Roided to be mounted on an AR, so I chose a smaller output light which worked better for that rifle....now the G4 has gotten me out of serious emergencies over last 5 years, stuck in snow storm on highway 2015, treking Sierras I. 2016, blinding perps outside my house doin illegal stuff, accompanied by my G19. This light has 3 settings...low light, strobe, high. On high you can blind anyone within 25 feet. On strobe you also can disorient a person or suspected perp in the act. The tactical front can shatter a glass window on a vehicle, or put someone in the hospital with serious gashes if needed to be used as a weapon. I have owned very expensive brands...have used Eotech, Aimpoint on my platforms due to my line of work as a professional, and this light blows doors on ANY OTHER LIGHT I have ever carried. Get the batteries trust me 1000 lumens draws hard and you will need the other 3 batteries quickly. 10+ Great piece of equipment I own 3 of them. ... show more

  • ... on a home defense shotgun and has held up great. The second just bit the dust a little ...
Bought 2 of them one is mounted on a home defense shotgun and has held up great. The second just bit the dust a little over a year of EDC. After 6 months it lost low/strobe functions, High still worked fine. After 10 months the light would cut in/out. The soldered connections are what gave out both times causing the problems. Today a solder connection broke completely off with apiece of the circuit board. Since it's out of warranty I tried to fix it and no go. I'll spend a little more for a streamlight or surefire ... show more
