The plastic trays and domes fit well together, seem sturdy and should last a long time. The seed cells are clear plastic which makes it easy to monitor root growth. The seed cell trays will be good for starting small flower seeds. The seed starter kits with lights are well suited for surface sown seeds like petunias and begonias which need light to germinate. The humidity dome will help keep the soil surface moist which is critical for tiny seeds. Once the seeds sprout, the humidity dome should be removed. Good air circulation is needed to help prevent fungus and damping off. I use a small table fan set on the lowest speed. I keep things simple and grow only one type of flower or veggie per tray. If you decide to mix them up, group them by similar germination rates. That way they should sprout together and be ready to transplant all about the same time. First time indoor seedling growers, so I'm not speaking from a place of experience, but as a newbie, this set of starter trays seems super cool. The trays are made of thin plastic but seem sturdy enough and on par with other seedling trays. The lights are very bright and I love that there are 2 light settings for dim and bright. There is only one centralized cord that plugs into a USB outlet, so all of the trays (6 in total) do need to be set up somewhat near each other but the cords leading to each light are rather long so there should be no problem reaching all of them. These just arrived today, so obviously I will have to update on how they hold up through use, but so far I am pretty excited about this set! I opted for the smaller set that included the lights, because though I have a pretty decent amount of Southern light and window space... I also have... cats. 😒... I love them, but they do the best they can every year to destroy any seedlings I attempt to start. Frustrating, because we have a short growing season, so time is of the essence. So, this time I'm going to try something different, and it's going to involve trying to grow these in a closed off room, with only a small Northern window (basically no light). So far, I have only unboxed these, but the quality seems impressive for the price. Everything fits together nicely. The quality of the plastic seems durable and like it has a little bit of flexibility to it, like it will not shatter or crack easily (we will find out). I wouldn't necessarily call the plastic thick, maybe medium, but not thin. Forgot to show a pic, but I like that there is plenty of room (height) to keep humidity in while the seedlings grow (because I am in the desert and that's a real challenge), and also an adjustable vent, which is also where the lights attach. There is a bit of a gap between the bottom of the opaque outer shell (resisting algae growth) and the cIear insert (allowing for root visuals), which allows decent airspace so the roots will not sit in the water and rot, and I appreciate the thought that went into this design. I also love that this comes with mini plastic tools to work with these pods. For being plastic, they actually seem pretty durable and solid. I would expect to easily get multiple uses out of these, and even plan on rotating through them within the growing season. The cords all connect to each light puck with a USB-C type connector, which attaches to a single cord with a switch control with 4 different preset time increments after which the lights will turn off: 4H, 8H, 12H, and 18H. You can tell which is selected by the different backlit color (red, blue, green, yellow). I tested all of the lights, and they all worked (but I only ran them for a short time). On this product page, I noticed it said "no daily cycle", which I didn't exactly know what it meant at the time, but I take it this means that I will have to manually reset it everyday, which is inconvenient. I'm not sure why they wouldn't design it this way, because obviously seedlings need a consistent lighting schedule. I hope I am wrong, because it will be very difficult for someone like me to remember to reset it every day. Hopefully I can find some sort of adapter that can do this. Once I have some more experience using these, I will update how they are working out and holding up. ... show more

These seed starter trays are sturdy and solid. The clear plastic cups fit into the bottom base and the dome lid fits on top. They are made of good quality thicker plastic. You get 10 trays, with 12 cups each for a total of 120 cells in which to start seedlings. The rotating wheel in the dome allows you to control the level of humidity. I keep a large garden, and my Biubee Heightened Lids Seed Starter Trays are exactly what I needed to start my seeds. Each tray holds a dozen seeds, and the tall lid gives my seedlings room to grow. The humidity dial lets me control the inside environment, and the clear dome admits plenty of light. I especially like the water tray that goes under the seed cells to prevent messes, and these trays are made well enough that with just a little care I should be able to reuse them several times.
