Even after the positive reviews, these far exceeded my expectations and were very helpful using my manual tire change machine. No more wishing I had a 3rd hand. The construction is sturdy, and I found the springs to be strong. The material does not mar the finish of the wheel. Not sure why some reviewers found the springs not to be strong enough. I can only imagine they were not using them correctly as these clamps locked onto the rim and held the tire in the right place for removal.
