Very soft and the bottom has grippers so the rug doesn’t slide around on the floor. I got this to use as an indoor door mat and the pile is low enough for the door to pass over. I really enjoy this rug and the pattern is cute.

You can wash this rug, in a frontload machine. Right there, enough said. However, let me add that, although not a fine, handloomed rug, this rug has style, stays where you put it, and did I mention, is washable? These rugs have a white (or similar) pile that is then painted/dyed, somehow a pattern is applied to the top. So if you smooth the top back, you will see the base color. Keep that in mine when selecting a pattern- A crisp pattern will be less successful than one designed to look antique. This rug has a gorgeous vintage pattern with several colors so could work in a variety of decors. Super, super, super soft. Your kids will love lying on this rug. And when it gets dirty, you can shake it out and throw it in the washer. Yay! This rug bunches up when I vacuum it with a regular vacuum. It does fine with a Roomba. But shaking it will work just as well. ... show more

I LOVE this carpet. It is super soft. The rubber at the bottom does a great job of keeping it (mostly) in place - it doesn't slide around like some of my others do, but it does get a small bit of movement. And the design is beautiful. The design work is reminiscent of Native American artwork to me, rather than the standard Persian carpet design which I think makes it stand out even more. Love this carpet so much. ... show more

I am all for softness and this rug actually surprised me on the quality! I have it next to my bed and when I wake up, oh my does it feel so good to touch it! It has not curled up and I have not washed it yet. If the rugs quality changes after washing, I will update.
