Heavy Metal is an adult animation movie that was scored with a rock soundtrack. It's draws it's inspiration for science fiction and fantasy. The movie is an anthology with a wrap around story. Each segment is handled by different artists, writers, actors, and directors. The different segments range from more comedic to serious in tone. I will keep this review simple for you. I saw this movie in the theater when it first came out and fell in love with it. Since then I have owned this movie in literally every version over the decades. From a crappy VHS bootleg to the 2011 Blue Ray. Let me tell you with zero exaggeration, this 4k transfer is beyond belief! The movie looks like it was shot yesterday. The perfection, clarity and richness of the transfer is superior to perhaps any 4k transfer to date. I really just sat there with my mouth hanging open for 90 min. And it is not just the video, the sound was equally amazing. An incredible, powerful and dynamic 7.1 HD soundfield. I have never spent better money on a 4k transfer than this. If you love this movie, you MUST own this 4k disc, period. ... show more
