We have a very large (14' x 6') wood gate that we're guessing weighs north of 500#'s. The wood post rotted away and I've replaced it with a wide flange steel beam. I'd had a barrel and pin hinge, also very beefy, but it relied on me remembering to pump it full of grease every year. With the new post, I decided it was time to move to a ball bearing hinges and these work great. We've bolted them on for the time being, but will probably weld them to the post at some point. For the portion that attaches to the gate, I've drilled a 3rd hole and we've used some malleable washers to better distribute the load. So far, I'm very pleased with the operation which is silent and the gate moves almost too easily. Well worth the price in my opinion

These are amazing very heavy weight hinges for extra wide gates. They have a nice powder coat paint finish that should stand up well to the year round elements. These worked perfectly on my 6ft wide gate and fixed the sagging issues I had with the smaller hinges.

This deal with weight well, they are pretty well built and give you a couple options as far as installation goes. I went with welding them up but I assume the bolt on application is just as sturdy. My gate is roughly 700 lbs and the hinges have handled it well so far. Time will tell how they deal with weather, wind etc but they seem to be quality. Until We Meet Again -Off The Grid Ken

I have an oversized wood gate that I needed something a bit more substantial. I have already installed them and am very pleased. Movement is smooth and they are very sturdy. Finish seems fine and I haven't noticed any degradation over the last couple of weeks. My only negative is there aren't any screws or bolts included. Would have been nice but not major. Won't dock it a star for that. Be sure you install them parallel and on the same plane.

Super heavy duty, holds up to a 900 pound gate per manufacturers info. Has spot for grease fittings but came with plugs, if you wanted to add grease fittings it would be easy enough. Solid ferrous metal and can be welded or bolted to posts. Nice solid no chip black powder coat. I run a fencing business and I know hinges, these are solid!
