I ordered these for a smaller pedestrian gate on the side of my yard, and they're extremely smooth with the bearings, but no way to tension them, unless I add washers. The bearings have started to rust after one rainy session, but still functioning smoothly. These would also work great for a much larger gate, but the rusty bearings and the load placed on them could require frequent replacement. These appear to regular radial bearings, so they should be looked after regularly and maybe coated with grease to minimize water intrusion. Likely common sized in metric and can be replaced as needed.

Well, I had high hopes for these gate hinges. Sadly, they are not quite right for my gate, but that is on me for not taking a closer look at our existing hinges. We had one that broke and I was hoping this would replace it, but it's not quite right. That's really a shame, though, because these are BEEFY! I knew that they would be heavy, but these are insanely sturdy! If they had fit, I have no doubt that they would have lasted decades or more. The coating is thick, so they won't rust for a very long time, if ever. I can't speak to ease of installation, since I didn't get that far, but all of the necessary screws are included, so I can't imagine it being an issue. Would have loved to use these!!

I got these, not fully appreciating their strength. My thinking was that they might come in handy to fix some old wooden garage doors. Now that I have them, however, I think that would be a waste of their potential. I will be saving them for a future project - possibly one involving an actual gate.

Okay, I haven’t even fully installed these yet, but I had to say something because just picking them up gives me goosebumps. I got these for a huge gate I’m putting up on my driveway, and WOW—these things are solid. I mean, seriously heavy-duty stuff. Just picking them up, you can tell they’re built to handle a monster of a gate, and the silent bearing? Genius. Heads-up: They come with bolts but you’ll need to grab some lag bolts to get them mounted on a wood fence, but honestly, that’s no big deal—it’s worth it for the quality here. Once installed, I can already imagine my gate swinging smooth and quiet like a dream. If you’ve got a big, heavy gate that needs some serious support, don’t sleep on these. They feel like they’ll last decades, and the black finish? Super sleek. Already impressed and can’t wait to see them in action!

These 7-inch heavy duty gate hinges feel robust straight out of the box, with thick steel construction and corrosion-resistant finish that give confidence for large driveway gates. The silent bearings are a standout: the gate glides smoothly and you don’t hear metal-on-metal bangs that older hinges tend to make. Installation went decently; the included heavy-duty screws are a nice touch, though I found that getting the alignment perfect and ensuring the gate swings true took a little extra fiddling than I’d hoped. Given the weight rating (up to ~1,100 lb) it’s clearly designed for big gates, so if your gate is lighter you may not need the full spec. One other small quirk: the black finish shows tool marks somewhat easily during install, so you’ll want to protect the surfaces or be fine with a few cosmetic scars. Bottom line: If you’re upgrading a large swing gate and want durable hinges that handle heavy loads and minimize noise, these are a solid choice. These hinges are perfectly large and heavy duty to handle a good load. I'm going to install them on an 8' 'ranch gate.' They seem to be well protected from weathering with wither paint or powder coating. Easy to lubricate as will be necessary for any hinge during its service life. They come with hex bolts which will work for certain mounting and applications. I'm going into a wood post on one side, and it you are going into wood, brick, concrete you will need to supply your own lag bolts. Nice that these hinges allow a full 180 degree swing, which provides the user with flexibility during installation.

They are heavy and VERY well made! I plan on using them on a new driveway fence that I am building. They are 7” in length and come with all the screws needed to connect them to the door. They came in a nice matte black color which will work for my project perfectly. The durability and quality is superb. They function with a 180 degree rotation and can hold up to 1100lbs. Overall the quality you get at the price is a great value and I recommend these to anyone looking for new heavy-duty hinges!
