I was using a hand held easypress and several types of pressing pillows and only pressed a few types of items. Our vinyl equipment consists of both a cameo 3 vinyl cutter and the easy press which is basically a handheld large square portable large iron. While the easypress was sufficient for shirts, hoodies, and drawstring backpacks, it was dangerous when trying to press vinyl onto baseball caps. We had tried to use a glass bowl rated for the oven and place the hat with heat pillow around the bowl. Then we push against the easy press large flat hot iron while wearing silicone heat resistant gloves. This method resulted in not enough heat or pressure or burn marks on the hats and worse rippled vinyl. But with this heat press by Wookrays I can easily remove the 12 x 15 inch square place and mount the curved hat element and mount. This setup allows me to press a hat instantly in one clamping then unclamping motion. After over 15 successful heat transfers on hats and over 20 cloth face masks I can attest this is a consistent press. I have also used the more delicate and difficult type of heat transfer vinyl such as holographic foil, strip flock that feels like suede, and the thick brick HTV material on shirts and hoodies. As for T-shirts this press is a workhorse and presses a solid transfer versus my easypress iron. The large rubber mat has enough space to cover even x-large gildan hoodies. The swing away arm is so nice to allow me to safely place the clothing blank on the pad without having to set the easypress onto a pad or singe my arm hair on a clamshell model. The pressure knob is solid and allows me to set the correct push before using the clamp down. This heat press arrives professionally packaged and free of damage which was important to me with such a large and heavy product. Right out of the box, the machine seems intimidating for set up as there are many parts and attachments. Although the manual provided instructions, but as a first timer to operate a heat press, my goal was just not to burn anything or short circuit anything. I followed some of the instructions and videos and was able to get the t shirt and fabric with vinyl print out functional onto the t shirt quickly in just about thirty seconds, which was a default timing. There was no burnt smell or melted pieces right at my first try, so it was comforting to know the set up was functional. I have mostly hoodies and cloth recycling bag with a logo as holiday gifts for my employees and I was able to save quiet a bit with purchasing the machine and the material and do it on my own, instead of sending a project through printing services. I found that with about twenty of the same project and items, the results were consistently well made and without issues. There were minimal effort to manually press down, but really only using the lever with normal force. As long as I line up correctly and with the same timing, using the count down. I doubt many mistakes would be made unless it is just user error. The physical machine is heavy and must be on a stable surface, otherwise the fabric may shift when pressing down. ... show more
