I have a hard of hearing person in my family, so I bought it for her to try out and she is very happy with the performance of the device. As far as the background is concerned, she can't hear anything unless you yell at her. So I would say that the hearing aid works well. She mentioned that she hears speech very clearly, which is the most important thing. She said she likes it, it's light and she can barely feel it. Another convenience for her is that she can charge it every night instead of waiting for the battery to suddenly die and then scrambling to change it. The battery can easily last at least 12 hours before she puts it back in the charger. She also likes the little charging case, which is not only small, but can be carried around with her. Update: product finally charged up and I put them in. They work grand, so I increased the rating by one star. The true tests to come are how long a charge lasts and how long the product lasts altogether. Stay tuned! Product comes with lots of prompts to go to the website for technical support and customer service. None of the products shown at the website resemble the one I've purchased. When I tried to contact Hionec via the customer service portal, the site responded by saying there was a technical problem and my request couldn't be processed. While writing this review, I tried to contact the company via the web portal again and this time the site said the request had been successfully rec'd.     • Unbelievable quality for the price!
I recently qualified for hearing aids through the V.A. I was allowed to try a set of name brand, top of the line hearing aids for six months, and either accept them or try another brand for 6 months. After the second one had to be sent in for repairs during the 6 month trial period, I chose to try a different brand. Unfortunately due to staffing problems at my local V.A. it would be 3 months before I could get an appointment to pick up the new ones. So in desperation I looked for a pair of inexpensive, over the counter ones to get me by until I could get them. I found these on Amazon, and decided to give them a try. They seemed to be too good to be true from all of the features these have for the price. I was skeptical. But I decided to go for it. I ordered them and they were delivered overnight. They came with a charger that can recharge them up to 3 times without being plugged in. They arrived fully charged and when I tried them out, I was blown away by the quality of sound from such an inexpensive pair of hearing devices! When I first tried them, I didn't like the way my own voice sounded. But in just an hour or two, I had gotten used to it, and didn't even notice it anymore. I've had these for a month now, and couldn't be more pleased. They work as well as the expensive pair I had from the V.A! I can understand conversation clearly and now watch TV with the volume set at normal levels. My only complaint is that I haven't been able to get the Blue Tooth function to connect to my cell phone. It would be nice to be able to control the functions from my phone. But that's not a deal breaker for me. I'm still pleased with what they do for such a reasonable price. These were a Godsend while I'm waiting for my replacement to come in. It will be great having these in the meantime. And they'll be my backup pair if the need arises. If you are on the fence about trying these, my advice would be just go for it! I'm so glad I took a chance on these! ... show more

    • Easy to use, and they work
I just started using these devices after losing one of my “office” hearing aids, I wanted something to replace the lost one but didn’t want to spend a lot of money, in case I lost another one. I’m very happy and pleased with them thus far.
