    • A perfect purchase, well packaged with all needed parts for a complete installation
The box arrived yesterday May 2oth. I opened it and found that the two housings are perfectly packaged between molded foam packing, with a clear film protecting the surface, dummy bulb sockets covering three holes, and a smaller retainer with a clear tape seal covering the main headlight socket. So this housing was almost airtight and with no moisture inside. The box also came with a packet of eight white retaining clips for the chrome plated grill trim (with the golden Chevy bowtie). The housing assembly is as heavy as the factory Equinox housing, so follow the steps detailed in the 2005 - 2009 Chevy Equinox Owner Manual, pages 5-45 to 5-47 to remove the original housing assembly.. I recommend installing the low/high beam bulb first in the housing in a clean and dry room to prevent dust and moisture entering the housing at this point. Remove the retainer ring and the clear tape seal, Be sure the headlight bulb (I used new 9007 LED bulbs) fits inside the socket with the flat side of the bulb's rear connector facing up and aligned with the inner socket ring. This is absolutely necessary so the bulb filaments (or the LED chips) face the inner reflector correctly for the low beam and high beam alignment. Then use the included retainer ring to hold the bulb in place correctly. Check that it does not move. Remove all the other bulbs from the old housing, remove all the dummy sockets in the new housing, , and install the bulbs at their original locations in the new housing. . After all the bulbs are in place and connected, do a test by pressing the fob unlock button. All the lamps should light up and the signal lamp flashes. If one or more fails, recheck the bulbs in its socket. Then finish the installation, reattaching the three screws (two 7 mm and one 10 mm) of each housing assembly, the grille screws (four 10 mm) and the four push pins. Finally, remove any broken retainer clips from the chromed plated grill trim, and push a new retainer clip on each tab (six vertically toward the grill and one horizontally for each housing assembly). Align the trim on the grill, then use hand taps to press each clip and tab into place. ... show more
