Nice switch that works as advertised. Only thing it’s a little light on is instructions. The 2 included HDMI-to-HDMI/USB cables (which are of surprisingly nice quality) are meant to go from each computer (the side with 2 cables goes into the computer and the solo HDMI plug goes into the “input” side of the KVM switch). A tiny micro-USB switch allows you to tuck the main box and cables out of the way while keeping just the button accessible. The device does what it says, but when I started using it I realized there were things my old KVM did that were missing. - This is the biggest issue for me: This is a very basic switch rather than a smart multiplexer. When I switched from one PC to the other after a very short period the deselected PC (laptop) would go into power saving mode like the lid was closed. With my old KVM, that didn't happen. This caused issues with needing to open the laptop and hit the power button again. This is a work provided laptop so the power saving settings were locked down. - Hot key switching: Hit a couple keys on the keyboard and it switches PCs. Not essential, but I didn't realize how ingrained in my this is. - Slow switch times: I'd eventually get used to it. For the price, it provides good value and it did the job. I just didn't realize the differences from what I was expecting until I used it for a few days. ... show more

I purchased this KVM switch in order to be able to operate 2 PCs with the same keyboard/ mouse/monitor. The original switch was defective. Through email conversations with the seller, they replaced the original with a new switch that worked as expected. They seemed concerned that I was happy with my decision to purchase their item. I had an old PC with only VGA and DVI connectors that I wanted to use with this switch. I purchased a VGA to HDMI adapter, connected it to the old PC then simply connected the HDMI cables from both PC's and the USB cables for my mouse and keyboard. I have three PCs (2 WIN, 1 Mac Mini. I just got the Mac and I had three keyboards, so I connected my Mac and secondary PC on this KVM so I didn't have all those keyboards and mice on my desk. Product was easy to install and the long button cable is a great idea. It takes a few seconds to switch to the Mac (it doesn't like losing the keyboard when I switch.
