I have multiple laptops for different clients. Flipping back and forth, was just not working. It's nice that I can have 1 keyboard and mouse running 4 different computers, and quickly/easily switch between without swivel chairing... I've actually set it up to keep my primary laptop connected to 1 monitor and I use my second monitor to swap between extending my primary, and being the primary on 3 other machines. I do have 2 mice as I do need to use my primary AND one of the others at the same time. Switching is pretty quick, I think the issues I have are more to do with my laptop trying to run 2 or 3 monitors rather than anything to do with the device. Glad I have the ability to run/connect 2 monitors EVEN if I'm not using it 100% of the time. ... show more

    • It works ok, but that did not go the extra foot.
The system works ok and switching between systems is easy. The problem come in when you attempt to start typing, sometime the keyboard hasn’t connected yet. Or the screens flicker. Both are easy fixes, they are just annoying. A little more engineering and this would be an awesome unit.

    • Works reliably. Lots of included cables. Need a 5VDC USB power source.
I use this to switch between two Windows 10 computers and a Raspberry Pi. It comes with a USB cable for power but does not come with a 'brick' to provide the 5VDC. The ability to use two monitors is nice. Previously I was using Display Port. I had to downgrade to HDMI to use this device. (I didn't notice any difference, it is not a gaming monitor) There are some tradeoffs but they are minor. The switch changes quickly. I hear Windows make a noise each time as if it is detecting the monitors. The LED lights are pretty bright at night but they are not annoying. ... show more

The best thing about this KVM switch is that it comes with every necessary cable so you don’t have to worry about whether or not you have the equipment to get it started. Once you get this out of the box, it is fairly easy to set up with just a few switches and plugs to get going. The directions are easy to follow if you aren’t familiar with setting up this kind of hardware. It is all labeled nicely and color-coded! Further, the hardware itself is durable and sturdy enough to travel with. It has a metal shell that makes it heavy but not too heavy that you can’t bring it on the road for presentations and such. Additionally, it is compatible with both mirrors and extends your screen. Other switches have to be specially programmed for the extension and only work for mirroring, but this one does both just as easily. This is a really nice feature for a work-from-home setup. This switch is also made with a huge variety of ports. Others on the market will be solely USB or HDMI ports but this one does both, and more! I have used this on both my computer monitor as well as on my mini at-home projector and the ports work great. They are also reliable when used simultaneously. I have found that this switch is super self-regulating in that it doesn’t overheat or break down when it is used for a long time or with many devices. Overall this is a great switch. It does everything it needs to and it is easy to start up and get going, even if you are a first-timer! Whether you are using this for gaming or for work purposes, it has ports to do all of it simultaneously if needed. The KVM switch came with the necessary cables. It was easy to operate once the keys and plugs were correctly connected. The user manual also explains the installation in detail. The hardware is durable and robust. enlarged my screen.
