I get them dyed a dark brown because they would otherwise be invisible (gray). You can create tiny brush strokes that look exactly like hairs. The consistency is excellent and just the right amount of waxiness. There is a spoolie on the other ends for blending. I have mixed feelings about this brow pencil. First, I think that the shade I chose was spot-on. Having looked through the other many colors and tones available, I think the color choices are wide and wonderful. However, there are a few things that I don't like. First, the pencil smudges much more easily than I think it should for a brow pencil. In my experience, brow pencils for actual daily use (as opposed to those used specifically for photos and exaggerated pigment beneath bright lights) should be firmer in texture. These have more of a glide-on (as with some eyeliners) feel and behaviour. The smudging effect for my eyebrows left little dots in my pores beneath my sparse (thanks, thyroid) eyebrow hair which looks gross up close. My super-cheap eyebrow pencil is appropriately firm and doesn't smudge as this does, but the color of this pencil is much better. The plastic feels super flimsy and cheap, worse than one for a couple of bucks. I'm surprised and not a fan of the casing. The brush at the other end is convenient, although I still like using the old-fashioned brushes for my brows. When using the mascara style brush, it's okay and works in a pinch. If this eyebrow pencil didn't smudge so much, was waterproof and didn't leave such dots behind my eyebrow hairs from settling in my pores, I think I would like it much better. I do think that the color offerings are excellent and the description and photos make it very easy to choose online fairly accurately in my experience. Thanks for reading. ... show more

The color was suppose to be brown black but was actually dark brown and the lead was thin and flimsy, breaks off easy. Big disappointment and over priced.
