I think the toughness of the mat makes it worth the money over typical landscape fabric. I needed a very sharp knife just to cut small slit to run wire through. The different layers should keep just about anything from passing through. I have used multiple layers of other fabrics before, and they still allowed many types of foliage to grow, almost as if I had put none down. This shed is the perfect size for vegetable garden supplies. I bought an additional shelf that fit perfectly on the right side to accommodate sundries. The only drawbacks are that it took some effort to assemble and it’s ventilation is poor (I open the door sit a small fan inside on hot days).
