Top Amazon Reviews

  • Great reviews even outside of Amazon Great reviews even outside of Amazon

I must have sat and reviewed so many heat presses on Amazon. This one had great reviews but so did many others too. I kept flip-flopping my decision and eventually landed back to the PowerPress after seeing some video reviews. I wish I had not wasted so much time trying to find the perfect economical press because this one is EXCEPTIONAL! This press does an awesome job. Sure, there is some inconsistency in the heat platen (about 10-15 degrees at times) but you are going to find this in a cheap hobbyist type of heat press. I'd worry more about the brand of HTV you decide to use and stick with the pro stuff like Siser or Color Theory. I do some pretty large graphics on my press (see photo) and it does very well so far. The 15x15 area is much better than a smaller unit. My Pros List: The PowerPress heats up very fast (about 5-7 minutes to get to 315 degrees). The adjustable timer and the "done" beep is a big help. Nice rubber on the shirt pallet HAS NO SMELL AT ALL and is securely glued on. Another selling point was the replaceable fuse and holder access if I ever needed to replace a fuse. My Cons List: It is very hard to pull the platen/handle back up after you press an item. I kept my pressure knob the same as the way it came from the manufacturer. I assume it is medium pressure but it is hard to release. I wish it had holes for mounting so it doesn't move all over the place on my table. It is not a swing-away style so you could get burnt easily when positioning your garment on the pallet. However, I opted for this style due to space limitations. That does not necessarily make this a con, just a "Beware" of how hot this is. Overall..... I highly recommend this and don't even second guess what brand of economical heat press to buy. You will be very happy with this unit if you are just starting out and looking for a cheap heat press. I also didn't want to go with a unit with all the extra attachments like a mug and hat press because I feel that one thing should do one thing very well instead of possibly several things so-so. I'd buy this all over again if I was on a budget! ... show more

  • Good heat press for the money
Style: For Apparel
Got this as a starter heat press. It works great, it's sturdy, and the pressure adjustable easily. Heat output is good and heats up quickly. The LED temp and timer screen is nice and bright, and easy to dial in temp, and heat times.

  • Simple and works fantastic
Style: For Apparel
This heat press is great. I love the different settings I can choose for this. And I can change it to work best with specific fabrics. It is super easy to use, you choose your settings and it takes seconds to heat up. You close it and it beeps when it is done. So simple.

  • Not bad, not great

It's an okay product. Gets the job done but nothing to write home about. The instructions were confusing and setup took longer than expected. It is what it is.

Bought mine Nov 2018. For whatever reason, the switch wires melted. Apparently too hot. However. It lasted 7.5 years. I DEFINITELY got my $200 worth. Very heavy duty. I produced hundreds of shirts, banners, bags on this one. I only wished it had a hat attachment. Now I’m shopping for one that does both… ... show more

Bought my first machine in January 2019. Just died on me last week. Have done 100plus orders to kids holiday shirts and other things. Love this machine and never had issues.

  • DO NOT PURCHASE

After having a Cricut for a year I was thrilled to get a heat press to make iron-on vinyl projects with ease. After receiving this press for Christmas, I tried about 25 separate iron-on projects with various 100% cotton fabrics (onesies, dish towels, tee shirts, etc) and was not able to successfully transfer the vinyl on anything. The vinyl immediately pulled back up after up to 10 attempts to hold down the press for 15-30 seconds at a time. I tried different brands of vinyl, different hold times/temp settings (recommended by both the manufacturer as well as the instructions on the HTV). Nothing worked. I have wasted vinyl and so much time and sanity trying to get this to work for me. My greatest disappointment with this product is the terrible customer service I have received from the manufacturer, Penson and Co. I wrote an initial email to their customer service (the phone number, while hard to find at first, became instantly useless because their voicemail box is full) and got a response a couple days later asking for pictures so they could specifically diagnose the problem. After spending MORE time responding and giving them what they asked for I have received no response back and it has been five days since sending the email twice. My girlfriend, who also has a heat press (brand name is Fancierstudio), holds her press down for 15 seconds using Siser Easyweed and has had absolutely no problems. The vinyl immediately adheres after the first hold. I will never purchase from this company again and wouldn't recommend that anyone else does. The product got decent reviews which was why I chose this one. I must have gotten a defective unit and this company has shown absolutely no urgency in fixing this for me. ... show more

  • Great Press
Style: For Apparel
I'm a first time shirt maker for my llama hiking business in the Smoky Mountains. I researched presses on the market and this came up as one of the best yet the ratings on Amazon don't reflect it. I was not sure on purchasing this press because of the reviews that people have posted on Amazon. I figured for a couple hundred bucks it was worth the gamble. I took it out of the box and it had instructions (read where some presses do not). I purchased some transfers and t-shirts already and started pressing the first day. I have pressed over 200 shirts so far and has worked flawlessly. I only had one mistake and that was because I rushed and the press was not hot enough yet when I pressed on a transfer. I was thinking that a swing arm would be helpful because it moved the hot plate out of the way while you put the shirts in their position...I found that I was pretty good at situating the shirt just right without getting burnt. I would purchase another one if I had to. Hope this was helpful to someone. ... show more
