I initially saw these stands at a conference I attended, holding two CCD TV cameras each. After a close inspection, the stand was light & strong, but not flimsy. Also, the price was right. The following week I took the plunge & bought this for a set of four par lights we previously purchased for our band. I received the stand on a Thursday, and set up & used it on Saturday. It was exactly what we needed; the 8 foot height elevated the lights high enough, and it only took me about 15 minutes to assemble the first time. Easy to assemble, sturdy enough to handle the four lights, and breaks down to only two pieces - what's not to love? These seem to be good stands. I give 4 stars because I don't know how well they will hold up over time so I may upgrade or degrade depending, but for now I think they are worth the money.

    • Great for indoor use with light-weight lights, but probably won't last.
This stand had all the signs of being repackaged. Doesn't bother me much, but the buyer should be aware. There's no safety pins, which is somewhat worrisome for something that suspends objects objects above the heads of performers and/or an audience. I would feel a lot better about that if the twist knobs felt less cheap than they do. They say it's rated for 44 lbs, but I honestly would only trust it with...maybe 30? A lot of LED stuff is lightweight plastic these days, so not a huge deal. I'm probably not going to use it outside unless there's very little chance of wind. Oh, and it'll probably fall apart within a year. But other than that, it's by no means bad. If you don't have a lot of heavy lights, are doing something indoors, and don't need something that lasts forever, it gets the job done and it's hard to beat the price. ... show more
