The slightly longer neck and the touch control make this the best of four models I have tried. The LED head on this is nice, excellent dispersion and good solid light (no hint of flicker) to illuminate the part you are working on. I have this on the side of a drill press and it is replacing an older lamp (old school incandescent bulb) that I kept putting back in place - until finally this magnetic light arrived. All of the other magnetic clamp-ons were either too short, too dim or the switch was inconveniently located on the cord - far away from the tool itself. This design is just better/smarter. It is well made and the magnet is stronger than any of the others I tried, so it stays where you want it to stay.

Purchased another model bit the neck was too short. This one was perfect. Magnetize to a not heated metal part and flex the next to the right area. I didn't think i would care for the touch activation, but it works great when your hands are all grubby from grilling. I've only had it a day but I am already ordering 2 more for my Vertical smoker.

I like that it doesn't have a separate on/off switch, you just need to touch the light to turn it on.

I got this light to use in woodworking, as a replacement for the popular but not so bright Ikea light. This one has an extremely strong magnet on the base--so strong, it's actually hard to lift off the tool. The lighthead is flat and large enough to get in the way of seeing your work piece if you're trying to look from the top of the light. The switch is a fairly sensitive 'tap' on the top of the head, so it can get turned on or switched to a different brightness if you accidentally touch it, to move it, for example. Unfortunately, with the flexible neck, it can be hard to tap the switch without moving the head into a less desirable position. The flexible neck appears durable and is just long enough. The plug in cord is a little short to be able to put the light exactly where you want it, unless you have a bazillion outlets in your shop. The most important feature for me was the brightness. The middle of three settings is about equal to the too dim light it replaced, and the brightest setting is just right. The light color is on the bluish end of the 'temperature'/color scale for LEDs, which is fine for me and provides good contrast. Overall, it has it's good points and poor points. It's a good value, if it will work in your application.

I've tried 2 other lights and this one by far is the best. The 3 light settings is perfect, I use the brightest when cross stitching and it helps me see the cloth perfectly and the neck is long enough so that I can move it around for seeing better. If I have to buy another I definitely will be purchasing this one again. You won't go wrong with this light.

It has a double magnet in the base - very strong. I bought it for my lathe and it quickly found itself moving around to my other tools - band saw, drill press, and bench sharpening wheel. Plenty bright on the top setting. Great goose neck that is long enough. "Sewing Machine Light" is an understatement. Get two.
