    • Amazing speaker, it sells itself!
I previously had a Studio 3 speaker, heard it playing in the Sprint store and was blown away, I had never heard a small bluetooth speaker so clear and full with a nice bit of bass to back it up. I had that speaker for about 6 years, had it playing at work all day long on top of my tool box in a shop environment, toted it home to use wherever I was working around the house. I estimated by the amount of hours it played at work every day during a normal work week, not counting all the time it played here at home, well over 10,000 hours of play time, before one of the woofers finally failed. The battery life was never impressive but it pretty much always stayed plugged in where I was using it, as it was directly stated it's more of a static speaker, it was never touted as a long play battery power bluetooth speaker. I know of almost a dozen people who have bought one after hearing mine at work and were blown away with the sound quality, and they all love theirs as well. So, naturally, when mine finally wore out, I replaced it with an Onyx 4. About the only thing different between the two, is the power up sound, and the passive radiator button color on the back. Otherwise they look identical. And my Onyx 4 sounds exactly like my Onyx 3. The added bonus is that with this new speaker, the battery life is good. There have been a few days I've set it on top of my box at 7AM and forgot to plug it in, and it was still playing when I went to put it back in my cabinet at the end of the day. For the price, this thing is amazing. I'm sure there are louder, harder hitting bass speakers out there, but not in this price range. ... show more

It has a very high quality sound, it sings very cleanly, only the mask is very weak, it lasts for 2 hours when listening loudly, the only drawback is the people.

This little unit is a powerhouse! The base is incredible, but other tones are no less equally rich. Works with my built-in cell phone equalizer, and is well positioned (convex) to fill large/tall areas with sound. Only con is the lack of back lighting for the manual + and - volume controls if not using your phone to stream. They are, however, raised which allows you to feel them like they are braille. Don't hesitate, you won't get a better bang for the buck! ... show more

This is a very good quality speaker. Solid in its construction. I accidentally dropped it from 3 feet off the floor, with it landing on its face, bouncing back into the air and hitting the floor again. While the force of the fall slightly dislodged the rubber gasket that surrounds the disc, the gasket easily slipped back in place, and the speaker is unharmed. I have a bit of concern for the delicate balance it has while standing on it's tripod-like base. I'm a bit reckless, and would feel more at ease with a square base. But . . . for the money, this speak is difficult to beat. My previous speaker was a JBL Charge 2+ for which I paid $120, and only got 2 years use of before it could no longer hold a charge. This Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 4 cost only $10 more, but is far louder, and richer in sound. Of course, it is also much larger, and you need more room for it on your counter top if you plan for it to be used regularly, as I do. The power cord is sturdy, and not too short, as we find in many products. It takes a full charge overnight with this cord. We easily got 8 hours of party-loud playing out of it before recharging. You would get more hours at a lower volume, of course. Time will tell if it can keep recharging more than 2 years from now. This speaker can fill a 50 by 50 foot outdoor area with great sound. Indoors, it sounds rich and detailed. If I could hope for better, it would have a more pronounced top end, so that cymbals and "S's" sound crisper. But that would be at a much higher price point. When I shopped for this, I also considered the Marshal Kilburn for $70 more, and the Bose Revolve + for $150 more. I'm feeling really good about this Onyx Studio 4. ... show more

This thing sounds absolutely incredible. Packs way more volume than you think it would out of its small frame as well. The Onyx Studio 3 had a way better "power on" noise though. This isn't actually an issue but they altered it VERY slightly for the 4, and so every time I power this thing on I get a little annoyed. ... show more

    • Best Blue Tooth Speaker!
I have tried many different types of blue tooth speakers. Most of them don't sound great and the battery does not last long. This speaker sounds great and is comparable to our two full size speakers hooked up to our surround sound system. You can really jam out with this speaker.
