I never knew this product (steel mesh wire) is also known as Farmers Cloth used as chicken coop fencing. This version is rubber coated black and worked perfectly for my application. One inch crown SS staples held it in place with my pneumatic air staple gun.

Color: The black coating looks clean and uniform and blends in well outdoors or around enclosures. Visibility: The black finish reduces glare and makes the mesh less noticeable from a distance. Texture: The vinyl-coated surface feels smooth with no sharp or rough spots along the roll but the cut edges are sharp metal so be careful handling the cut edges. Thickness: Not very thick for something labeled heavy duty; my birds can break it with their beaks. Durability: The coating seems well bonded but the wire gauge is lighter than expected. Flexibility: Easy to cut and shape, which is convenient but also shows the lighter gauge. Overall: A 4/5. Decent quality and good visibility, but not thick enough for strong beaks; best as a secondary layer as you can see I used it with my aviary.

This item had holes in the wire. The weaving had spots that were not manufactured correctly. Lots of loose single-strand wires not woven into the correct spot. I was unable to use it as it was a nightmare cosmetically for my project. I would send a photo but I got discouraged with it and threw it in the trash.

We have purchased two rolls of this. One roll was used to predator proof our chicken run and has done a plugged good job. We will use the second roll to deer proof our garden area next spring. It is reasonably priced, adequately thick and easy to use.
