This review is for a tabletop drill press stand. The metal stand includes two hex wrenches, two mounting brackets, mounting nut and a wrench. When I first opened the box, I thought the hex wrenches were missing, but the seller quickly replied to my email and explained they are stored in the top of the tool. The stand is well made, with a good fit and finish, and operates smoothly. It’s all metal construction makes it sturdy, but I would definitely bolt it down, if possible, for extra stability. A few key features are: • One bracket is a clamp designed for tools 1 to 2 inches ( 2.5 to 5 cm) in diameter. It holds well, and I plan to 3d print an adapter so I can fix a soldering iron in the press to install brass inserts into printed parts. The other mount is designed to hold devices such as rotary tools by inserting them through the hole and then bolting the device to the mount. • The mount can be rotated up to 90 degrees. While that feature is not useful for drilling, you could mount grinding or sanding wheels and use it for sanding. • The depth gauge and height are adjustable to accommodate various size projects and a have a reasonably accurate hole depth measurement. The key to getting good results is ensuring the rotary tool is properly aligned. One way to do this is get a short piece of straight rod, or if you don’t have that, a drill bit, and use a small square to align the bit. Once you have the tool aligned properly, you can make an alignment jig by drilling a hole in a 2 x 4 and using it to setup the press, and just checking with the square. I feel this tool in an overall good value. It isn’t a replacement for a drill press; but for a hobbyist with only occasional need to drill holes or install brass inserts, it will more than meet their needs and is a good, well made, versatile tool to have when needed; at a good price. ... show more
