Not quite Starrett quality but accurate and perfectly usable for my needs. I'm sorry I didn't buy one sooner. Comes with a screwdriver for changing batteries and 2 spares. A decent 6" scale was also included. The storage case is somewhat light duty but should be good enough.

PROS - It comes with 2 batteries, and a metal ruler (nice bonus). The black / orange contrast is very easy to read. It appears to be 100% accurate. The sliding is very smooth and tight. It's almost perfect. CONS - The battery compartment requires a screw, rather than the typical slide snap. On the up side it also came with a small screwdriver, it just seems unnecessary. That said, the battery should last a few years, so not a huge deal. This could be a deal breaker depending what you are planning to use this for. The back of the jaws is recessed, so you are supposed to be measuring with the outer 3/4 of the jaws. Still, if you have something thin and flat you might want to push it to the back of the jaws against the bar to get a perfect 90 for your measurement. The problem is that the housing for the electronics overlaps this by a tiny amount, so you are hitting the plastic housing instead of the metal. If you don't understand what I'm talking about then 99% chance this won't affect you. But I do consider this a design flaw. It just won't bother me for anything I'm doing. If it ever does I'll take my drimel and shave off those few thousands of an inch of plastic which is hanging over. ... show more

I was skeptical at first from the price. Turns out to be spot on. I used to for precious gems, bolts, automotive and even my test items to see how off it was. 9 out of 10 it was exact on the size and the 10th was from pushing the roller too hard. Just make sure you zero it at full close before use.

I bought these specifically for measuring the walls of my 3D prints, and they have been a game-changer. The accuracy seems exactly as advertised, and the stainless steel build feels high-quality. If you're tired of guessing measurements with a ruler, these are a solid investment, though the packaging leaves a bit to be desired. The Pros Customizable Tension: I love that it has a tension screw. You can adjust it so the movement is stiffer or looser depending on your preference, which is great for holding a measurement while you move the tool. Smooth Operation: The thumb wheel movement is very fluid and doesn't hitch or skip, making it easy to get those precise 0.01mm readings. Easy to Read: The LCD screen is large and clear, which is a huge help when you're checking dozens of measurements during a long project. Solid Build: The stainless steel body feels much more professional and durable than the cheap plastic versions. The Cons The Case Sucks: While the tool is great, the case is poorly designed. There is no dedicated slot or compartment for the extra battery, so every time you open the case, the spare battery just falls out. It’s a minor annoyance that becomes frustrating quickly. I was off work this week and needed a set of calipers to measure a part that I wanted to copy and 3D print. My go-to calipers are Mititoyo's, but I left them at work and didn't want to drive in to get them... These aren't Mititoyo, but, IMO, they are almost as good...
