I have never had any experience with sewing machines. However the mechanics of the device is quite simple, placing the spool on the short axle then placing the thread through two loops and then the needle. In which the device simply needs to be turned on and the material placed through in order to sow. So it works probably if used properly . ... show more

This portable sewing machine is fine for clothing. I needed something more durable to sew a handbag. It's pretty easy to use for a novice as it comes pre-threaded. I know I will need help switching the bobbin and threading the machine with a different color thread. Overall, I am pleased.
